Just curious why you take so much interest in volleyball. You obviously stay up on it.

Just curious why you take so much interest in volleyball. You obviously stay up on it.

Mainly, I think it's really exciting. As a tennis player, I also like the serve/return/smash aspect. Because the format favors the returners so much, sets tend to be pretty close and every point matters. It also has some pretty intense fan bases.

Truth be told, I didn't really follow it too much until Wisconsin got really good three years ago. They got the #1 recruit in the country and she is widely considered the best player in America. I started watching the Badgers and from there, I realized it wasn't that hard to follow the top teams. Most of the big games are put on Tuesday/Wednesday or Friday nights to avoid competing with football. As a sports fan, there is nothing near as exciting in the time slots the big volleyball games are on.
