I was going to do some predictions, but I just don't feel it this year.

Has anyone ever told you the =) smiley is pretentious? :D

Probably not, as I'm probably the only one who thinks so...

I think it looks happier than the : ) one. And I'm a happy guy.

#1 Vancouver vs. #8 Chicago

Vancouver in six. Chicago still has a very talented group of players, and a huge home crowd. However Vancouver is way too deep and balanced this year to let Chicago run all over them. It'll be a chippy series and Vancouver is going to be worn out for the second round, but they finally get the monkey off their back.

#2 San Jose vs. #7 Los Angeles

San Jose in five (I think that's what I predicted in the other thread, lol). LA is a little too banged up right now, and the Sharks are white hot. Doughty is going to have a fantastic series but it won't be enough to stop the steamroller that is the Sharks (unless McClellen screws up and flips the Calender over to April, then they are fucked).

#3 Detroit vs. #6 Phoenix

Detroit in six. Phoenix isn't any better than they were last year, IMO. Bryzgalov is going to be playing for a big fat contract, other than that the team is basically the same. The Wings might be missing Zetterberg, but I think they are going to come in to this one with a chip on their shoulder.

#4 Anaheim vs. #5 Nashville

Nashville in seven. Lots of overtime, lots of low scoring games, lots of Weber making Perry his bitch, and lots of shots of Randy Carlyle flapping his jaws and waving his arms at the refs. And that's just in the pregame warm ups. These two teams are going to just HATE each other.

Eastern Conference

No. 1 Washington vs. No. 8 N.Y. Rangers

I almost want to pick the upset here, Torts has this team in a playoff mindset. Lundqvist is a beast, and I love their forwards. But I see Washington in five. I don't know if it's because of Staal's crippling fear of another Semin bongo attack or what, but I don't see the Ranger's D stopping Ovechkin, Green, Backstrom, and Knuble. Look for Tortorella to be throwing guys under the bus left and right by the end of this one.

No. 2 Philadelphia vs. No. 7 Buffalo

Buffalo puts up a vicious fight, and each game goes down to the wire, but Philly is too stacked, too experienced, and too hungry. The one thing that could throw a wrench into all this is goaltending. You know Miller is going to stand on his head, but Philly in the playoffs is a big question mark. Seeing what they did last year with Leighton and Boucher, I'm not worried about it. Philly in five.

No. 3 Boston vs. No. 7 Montreal

Montreal is going to be tougher than people think... I really want to call this one a seven game series, with the Habs coming out on top, but I think this is Boston's year to go deep. Also right now Thomas is ridiculous and Boston is steamed about last year's debacle. Boston in six.

No. 4 Pittsburgh vs. No. 5 Tampa Bay

This is a weird one, we've got a team that's been playing textbook defense and one of the best overall systems going up against a team with a real shitty goal differential and some spotty play. Crosby and Malkin are gone in Pittsburgh, and Stamkos has disappeared off the face of the earth. Pittsburgh has too much experience and Tampa isn't ready to win yet. Pens in five, MAYBE a sweep if Stamkos is invisible.
