Both pitchers especially Wheeler are pumping the zone.

But there is not 1 hitter so far that is even remotely interested in working the count.

Mostly agree. I thought Stott had a good AB though. Can’t speak to Wright but watching Wheeler like I do, I’ve seen guys have better success with him early in the at bat with the most hard hit contact. Maybe we see a different approach second time through.

Both guys really pitching well. Also, I could listen to John Smoltz talk pitching all night. Guy really knows his stuff and how to communicate it to non-experts. This crew is light years better than that ESPN A-Rod telecast.

That pretty much covers the other networks too as far as espn's short comings for all the other major sports they do.

Yeah you gotta try and jump Wheeler occaisionally forsure. As smoltz said you also cant over swing though.

At the same time, you simply cant see 17 pitches in 2 innings the day after you had Philly use their whole pen. Guy is gonna go 7 easy.

I think it does if it is hot and humid, but when it's humid after a rain storm that cools the air then it doesn't seem to carry. (At least that's the results I got playing wiffleball in the street)

Humid air can hold more water or moisture in it. The water vapor in the air is really light and helps push heavier molecules like oxygen and nitrogen out of the way, giving a baseball a better lane to travel. This means hot and humid games would see batters hit baseballs farther than cold and dry games.

So crazy but if you watch enough playoff baseball you come to know that one of the 7-8-9 hitters ends up playing a big role in the champion’s story.
