Might wanna check that math sport. Last week the Giants were 5 games ahead and now they are 2 and a half ahead. The lead has been cut in half. Talk about a blithering idiot.
In the past 7 games; 8 for the Dodgers, they cut the lead in half. I call that "sinking quick"

Giants are 8-2 in their last 10 and the Dodgers 9-1. Considering how “hot” they are, gaining a game and a half (a day off for the Giants accounts for the half) isn’t that bad and is hardly shrinking fast.

7 games is too quick to be losing half your lead. Why arbitrarily go back 10 games. Why not go back to July 1st and say the Giants are surging ahead of the Dodgers by 2 and a half games?
Don't get me wrong, what the Giants have done is amazing and to their credit they held off the Dodgers this long. But no team can be expected to beat out a team with 5 number ones in their rotation; a rotation that has 8 Cy Youngs and a lineup they can put out every day that has 7 All Stars or former All Stars and 6 MVPs among them. Its outrageous what MLB has come down to with the rich reams getting such a huge advantage.
To me, what the Giants have accomplished this year is very admirable and I bet most MLB afficianados admire this Giants team more than they do the Dodger team.

Your 7 games is completely arbitrary as well. Why not look at just yesterday? In that sample size, the giants didn’t even play and they lost a half game. At that pace, they will be eliminated before they finish tonight’s game.

When its half your lead, it is.......in my opinion. Especially when you look at the juggernaut chasing them.

Lead down to one and a half. It’s so tough to come back from a brutal loss like Sunday to the Mets. Still a solid team but they better get over that loss quickly
