Crabs looked like a #1 in the Lions game, so there is still hope. I would like to see AJ out there, because he looked like a tough cover in the preseason. Now that Teddy G is playing, probably not going to see much of AJ though unfortunately.
I'd like to see the 49ers get the ball to Williams in space, so he can use his quickness a bit more. Manningham needs more looks too.

I'm not super concerned about the WR's at this point. A win against the Jets and all is good once again.

for now i'm okay if they just increase looks to Moss and Manningham. yeah, even to KW in space. once they get this improved a bit, AJ can play a few snaps per game.

i'd rather they get Ginn going on ST's, not at receiver.

the last game obviously took the stats downward so no argument there. but overall don't feel the passing offense SUCKS? it ain't explosive but its closer to that than "sucks".

even in this last game, felt if Alex had hit Moss on those two wayward passes (1st half)......different game.

this passing offense (all 11) needs work no doubt, but more in the red zone.

Yes, our RZ passing effort is thus far not much better than last year, if at all.

Disclaimer: Not my work, but thought it would be good to share. It has only been three games and it was against better offenses, despite their struggles.

The last line, the W's, is the only thing that matters, that's the same.

Yep. I posted this on another thread because I came across it on the niners board, apparently those on the other thread don't like it either. I understand why, too.

I wish we were 3-0 but if I had to choose between losing to the Vikings or the Jets, I'd choose the Vikings. One, it would be already over with and two, I would not want to lose to them (not that I want to lose to anybody).

I think they are much better. The guys are getting open, Smith just prefers the safe throw. I've seen that twice so far. Once where Smith chose to go to Manningham for 17 or 18 yards when he had Crabtree for possibly a 40+ yard gain and maybe a TD in the Vikings game if Smith threw it perfectly. In the Packers game he went to Crabtree for a short 10 yard pass that Crabs turned into a 20 yard gain, when he had Kyle Williams for maybe 30-40 or more depending on how well he threw it.

I love what I've seen from Manningham and Crabtree this year, its just too bad Alex Smith doesn't seem to be very good at reading defenses after the snap and finding the guy who got behind the defense. I even love what Moss brings to the team, defenses really respect the deep passing threat... which is unusual because the 49ers themselves haven't demonstrated it. They seem to just respect Moss and Manningham from what they've done in the past.

We're 4-7 (57.1%, 11th place) in the red zone with two scores from 21 yards this season. We were 40.68% last year, so we're a bit better this year so far, but with the missed opportunities, it doesn't feel good enough and obviously, we want to get there more often, too. It's such a small sample size and one fail turns that into 50%, two drops us back to 44% and so on. Of course, if we score on our first two trips against the Jets, that moves up to 67% (which would have lead the league last year and 4th this year).

Didn't read the thread past the first post, so demerits for that, but this is ridiculous, and I'm in a sports nerd rage.

When the Niners win a game, the response is "ZOMG SF HAVE GOOD PASSING! 'ALEX SMITH MVP?!?!?!?!?' SEZ *insert generic NFL.com/ESPN.com blogger*"

San Francisco loses during the regular season ONE TIME, and there is all this crying, bitching, and moaning about how the passing attack isn't good enough. Anyone ever think that San Francisco ISNT ASPIRING TO BE THE FUCKING SAINTS PASSING GAME?

Inches, literally inches, meant the difference between Moss & VD making crucial catches that would have changed the game vs Minnesota. SF lost to the Vikings, but stop making a mountain out of a mole hill. If SF continues to fuck up throughout the season, then yes, there is a problem, but 3 games into the season (at 2-1, mind you) does not a washed up Randy Moss make.

I know, I know... :ss:

i'd have chosen the Jets, because one tie breaker is NFC record. don't think its common to go there, but you never know?

yep, a lot can get back on track with a win. no matter how close or how ugly, a win would be big.

a lost will exponentiate the 'ills', starting with fan rants.

That's true, I guess I didn't think of that. Losing to an NFC team is worse, I just thought that a Jets loss would feel worse because of the media. Playoff implications is more important than media, but now that we already lost to the Vikings, we better beat the Jets! Two losses is worse than 1 AFC loss. :)
