I'm gonna say it. The Niners don't have a craptastic WR corps like they did last year, but it's not good. Crabtree is starting to look like either an ok #2 & Manningham a great #3, but they don't have a #1 guy.

They better get Jenkins' ass on the field soon, because he's the only guy on the roster who could even POSSIBLY be a #1 guy.

Oh, and Moss is washed up.

We have a lot of average WR talent with nobody who really sticks out. Crabtree really needs to improve in the red zone and we need to get Moss more opportunities than we have been. I would like to see Jenkins and Kyle in there more as well.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Kyle. Why? He aint any good as a WR. He's a pretty good return guy.

I don't see why anyone thinks Kyle is anything but another Cedric Wilson caliber WR. Maybe a LITTLE better, but not as good as Josh Morgan.

It doesn't really matter who is at WR if your QB can't find them open down the field. Hopefully that changes soon.

I'd hate to think we kept him purely based on his return abilities.

Need to stretch the field. You got manningham, moss, Davis, and Crabtree. I understand a lot of short passes turn into long gains, but you have to take some shots down the field as well.

I agree! As much as I disliked Manningham when he played for the Giants, I am telling you now, we are not using him to the best of HIS abilities. Same thing applies to Moss; and I'm assuming for Crabtree as well. If Kaep had Smith's football IQ / command for the offense, you would see a different side of Manningham and Moss. I'm telling you, we are doing a disservice to these guys!

Kept him? He's still under his rookie contract.

And with Ginn hurt he's the starting return guy.

We let Owusu and Palmer go in order to keep him. I know he's not a #1 WR. He would be a decent option in the slot, but we don't really need him to do that anymore.

I'll wait to see whether Crabtree's lacking in the red zone this year, because Smith did miss him in the Packers game (we scored anyway on the next play so it won't show up as a failed red zone attempt). Giving Crabtree that TD would make him look better and as far as I'm concerned, that was Smith missing him, not his fault. Moss was probably the read there, but Crabtree did get really open.

Moss is washed up if you expect an every down NFL #1 receiver. but he's not washed up and is effective doing what he's doig now. he proved he can get open the last game, or at least he proved to draw double teams. just that Alex can't hit him.

agree both Moss and Manningham should get 1 or 2 more than they've been getting. doesn't need to be all downfield, but a few more reps each.

we don't need to rush Jenkins in? while i do agree he should get 1 or 2 reps eventually, he shouldn't "take over" for the others. cause right now he's not better overall than these other guys.

we can be effective with this WR corps, despite not having a "#1 WR". there is enough talent at the WR spots.

I wish Greg Little were on the trading block. Had a little man crush on that dude when he was drafted; his potential TD he dropped didn't change my mind.

the last game, or all three games?

Perhaps I'm just expecting too much, but our passing numbers are up between measurably (TD's) to only slightly (YPA) from last year. Smith has twice the targets and yet he, IMO, doesn't have #'s to show for having them. I'm just not seeing the explosive capability I thought I would see by now. I'm seeing more short completions though so yeah for that.

I am satisfied with the offense for now. I do not ever see the 49ers being that explosive offense that throws the ball 50 yards down field like the saints or packers. Atleast not with Alex Smith as qb. We have the potential for that though, we have a very explosive offense with some play makers but until we get a new qb I don't see it happening.

And thats nothing against Alex, I am more than satisfied with him right now and I am happy with him at qb as long as we keep winning

Crabs looked like a #1 in the Lions game, so there is still hope. I would like to see AJ out there, because he looked like a tough cover in the preseason. Now that Teddy G is playing, probably not going to see much of AJ though unfortunately.

I'd like to see the 49ers get the ball to Williams in space, so he can use his quickness a bit more. Manningham needs more looks too.

I'm not super concerned about the WR's at this point. A win against the Jets and all is good once again.

this would be a big problem is we didn't have vernon. this would be a bigger problem if we didn't have gore and hunter.

the last game obviously took the stats downward so no argument there. but overall don't feel the passing offense SUCKS? it ain't explosive but its closer to that than "sucks".

even in this last game, felt if Alex had hit Moss on those two wayward passes (1st half)......different game.

this passing offense (all 11) needs work no doubt, but more in the red zone.
