Damn. That probably means no RB in the draft. :-(

I threw up in my mouth a little bit when I heard we were interested in Gerhart. He brings nothing to the table that we don't already have in Gore.

I think this would of been a good move but in the end he went with more money.

Don't forget a chance to start...he's been playing 2nd fiddle his whole NFL career and he may have been 3rd fiddle here.

Yeah he would be 3rd fiddle here but he would be our goal line back and short yardage back so he would still get a good amount of touches.

3 yr deal for $10.5 mil (4.5 mil guaranteed). He has a chance to start with the Jags. He was never going to see a lot of touches behind Peterson.

I'll support anyone's decision to go where they can start. Who wouldn't? Well, I heard people suggest that Smith should have gone to solidify a backup position as a great backup as opposed to an ok starter. Start when you can, don't burn bridges, work hard, and hope for the best. Money also helped Gerhart's decision, but play where you can play and when you have choices, choose the winner over money (ahem, Manning, SF in 2012?).
