I just saw that Nick Mangold was released by the Jets. Lord knows, we need a center. I not sure, if Scot even bothered to inquire about Alex Mack, last year. He was outstanding for my hometown, Falcons, which irked me because we coulda used him. Now, Mangold is available. It's time for Scot to kick some tires.

Sure...let's sign Mangold (33) for 7 mil per season, Campbell (31) for 8 mil per season, and ask Steve Smith for one more season instead of retirement. Sounds like a Vinny plan to me...oh, and let KC go because he is too expensive.

I said, Scot should kick some tires. Not exactly, sign him. The Falcons signed Alex Mack, last year. He had an outstanding first season for them. Last time I checked, he's a year younger than Nick Mangold. The bottom line is, I'm sick of our center and LG getting blown off the damn ball, season after season.

Mangold was released because he isn't good anymore.

The Jets have major problems along their oline, in addition to the level of talent at rb, qb, te.

No to mangold.

I am all for resigning Sullivan and plugging Long in at LG. Problem solved. Go back and watch Sullivan's starts. He played really well in his short time in there. Draft another guard for competition with Kujo and focus on other needs this year. We will inevidably sign a FA WR and possible a FA RB on offense to go with draft picks. All other FA upgrades should be made on defense imo.

Either or, we need a LG or C no matter how you look at it. Kujo isn't ready and the team refuses to try Nyseke there so...

You have the right idea with Alex Mack, Mangold on the other hand is probably done physically.
As mentioned by other posters, Sullivan is a solid veteran and may get some valuable playing time.
I think its fair to say Bill Callahan has a scheme good enough in place that a 2nd rounder could come in and start.
Last year a few late round picks became above average starters, i think chicago converted a guard to center and that was a success. We should have plenty of money, but i'd assume defense would be the only place where a young veteran is a must. If Kirk is still around, because he knows the offense, i do believe we could get away with rookie WRs and a rookie LG, if we had to financially. There are going to be a LOT more veterans released on defense -- although not really a need, i'm going to be interested in vontae davis when he gets the axe
