Werenski got two minutes for holding onto the guy who submarined him as they were both hurtling towards the boards. Guy took his legs out, Zach went down, guy started to fall and Zach grabbed him. 2 each.

Fortunately, Texier didn't get anything for murdering that goalie.

The refs in this league are garbage. All I got for last night.

It's going to be interesting this season because just like the players, the refs do not travel outside of Canada. If you think you hate the refs now, how are you going to feel about them in April?

My favorite thoughts from last night.

1. Toffoli's hilarously awful, yet effective breakaway goal.
2. Josh Anderson continues to be the GOAT.
3. Suzuki and Romanov
4. Tkachuck getting his bell rung by Chariot
5. Lucic being a massive (slow) whiner, and it's not higher on the list only because the has-been scored a goal at the end.

Yup, or Frank Costanza gathering the clan for Festivus.

I also forgot to mention that MDZ took a stick to the face, needed stitches in his upper and lower lip AND they had to come out and scrape from the defensive zone to the bench to clean up the blood. He put a picture on Twitter. Don't go look for it.

Only call was the goal call where the guy who MDZ abandoned to seek help scored.


And it was Wes Macauley. he usually does pretty well.
