NHL games on ESPN?

If that LAME Azz NBA sport does indeed cancel the season, Should the NHL try and get some games put on ESPN?

I think it would be nice, but I don't know if VERSUS would allow it.

ESPN tried, but NBC/Versus ponied up the big bucks and more coverage commitment. So naganahappen.

I'm fine with them skipping ESPN at this point.

Versus (OLN at the time) took a chance on the NHL and has devoted a lot of time and resource to it and, IMO, does a good job at this point with it.

Nope. NHL does not need ESPN. Besides ESPN would rather have more talking heads, im sure.

I hope ESPN never gets hockey again. They do a horrible job of covering. Melrose in the broadcast booth would be a nightmare. Can you say MUTE button??

Versus (NBC Sports) has started doing NFL and college football shows so hopefully they will have a daily, weekly, whatever NHL show as well. I'll take all the hockey talk I can get.

If you think that NBC does a terrible job at selecting teams to showcase ESPN would only show Wings, Rangers, Bruins, and Penguins games anyway.

What I would really like to see is the local stations getting more of the playoffs. I don't like the VS anouncers.
