Tootoo being in the NHL is a joke. He didn't do anything brutal, but he fought Bortuzzo (as he said he would), fine...then he ran Bortuzzo and forced him to fight a second time after punching him repeatedly until he dropped the gloves. That's the point of the instigator penalty refs, just so you're aware. Then MAF gets run and slashed...with no call. Jagr scored moments later on a lovely shot. I thought the league was a fan of protecting goalies, and tends to blow the whistle when one is looked at funny...

Unless he has very lax joints/ligaments...that's a total tibial shift. MCL at the least, and I'd guess ACL just based on the amount of translation there. Normally don't get that much of a shift unless the ACL is involved.

FWIW, Trotz said it wasn't as bad as it looked...but...they haven't had an MRI yet. My guess from that is that MCL was lax on special tests, but ACL was intact. An issue with that: you can get an end point with a partial tear, some guys don't have the major symptoms that others do, some guys can run/skate without one, doesn't change the seriousness. So, until we get an MRI, nothing but guesses. Looked pretty brutal, so again, I'd be pretty shocked if it's minor.
