Third period of Pens-Leafs upped the ante. Phaneuf laid out Hornqvist (looked worse than it was, and was well away from the puck), Malkin responded, lead to a Leafs PP to end the game.

Leafs 0-6 on the PP. Is the Pens PK that good or is this a case of he Leafs being hapless when the top line isn't going full throttle?

The Pens are on a hot streak with the PK. Up until the Rangers game they had killed nearly 40 in a row, and in that 5-0 drubbing only gave up one on the PP. So they've given up one PPG in their last 9 games and approx 45 chances.

Then I don't feel so bad about the result. Hopefully they get back on track in Buf.

Well, McIlhiney will get at lest one win this year. I didn't see any of it, but even the Jackets homer radio guy was ripping him for the second and third.

rumor starting to circulate that the Jackets aim to remedy that situation. Too big of a gap between Bob and anyone else and they are not comfortable handing the net to anyone else in the org right now. Looking for a veteran (not Bryz) who can play 10 or so the rest of the year (not Brodeur).

Wonder if they sniff around about Nabokov?

catalyst.... leads to the 2-0 goal that leads to the unsportsmanlike call which leads to the 3-0 and its over. team is out of it.

First rounder for Reimer. Leafs can call up Gibson, Jackets get a solid second option and leverage when it comes to negotiating with Bobrov.

I'd check in on Jacob Markstrom - Canucks don't have much leverage there, if they put him on waivers someone's taking him

They dont have to put him on waivers to recall him. No recall waivers with the new cba

The fact he cleared waivers in training camp means markstrom actually has trade value now (not to mention hes playing well in the a)
