yep 7 days away. bonus of having a long run is that you dont have to wait for really important hockey news.

we draft 29 I believe since we came runner up (fuck) and I like Gillis drafting and dealings so Im excited for it.

Well, I'm predicting 1 or 2 from the Pens alone on draft day. I really think TK's rights will be dealt, and Nisky may be as well. I think there will be a decent amount of movement, but when you think about the draft class which has been deemed "weak" maybe there won't be too much. I guess GMs won't be scared to move back, but are a lot of guys going to want to move up at a cost?

i too think the Canucks will wheel and deal including our 1st round pick. I think that we have some parts and depth to make some tinker moves. I think #1 priority this off season is to identify and find the Mark Recchi type missing link. I have always believed in having a guy like that on the roster (Samuelson was supposed to be him but hasn't worked). That being said he is not a trade deadline deal for us we need him all year to work and be integrated deep into the culture of the team.

I just want Feaster to stay put at #13 and pick the best offensive prospect available. I doubt he will be able to make any transaction to move up higher in the draft (without giving up a key player).

Wow...the Pens have 5 picks this year I think. Ugh. 1-2-5-6-7. Really hoping we can draft Saad as a local boy, but there's some other raw talents on the wings I covet. Really hope we get a gem in the first.

Oleksiak at #14 ... hope he drops or the canucks trade up but i doubt it ... Tyler Myers redux? (right down to the choice of nationality - lol)

Yes NHL teams...all of you, take D in the first round. DO IT.

Signed,
Fan of the team with a lot of D depth...and no wingers.

fuck you got to love boston getting the #9 from the Leafs for Kessel, they get Seguin who helped win their Cup (I believe he was huge against Tampa when needed most) and only give up the #30 for Kaberle. what a year for Boston. wow.

No doubt... That was the turning point for us. Had he not stepped up for that Game 3 in place of Bergy, I don't think any of this would have happened.

word is the flyers are trying to clear space by moving into the top 10.. so that could be interesting

a lot of the talk though has said the flyers will be very active at the draft, and try to get their cap issues (including signing a goalie) under control before free agency starts

Looking at the mock draft Pix posted, i would like to see the Pens get Tomas Jurco. I liked what i saw of him in the Memorial Cup. Needs to put on a bit of weight though.

I'm not surprised by that. The flyers are typically an active team on draft day.
Personally I'm just hoping the devils don't trade out of the top 6 if they trade down at almost. There is no clarity after the top 4 really, and I uave to think its because those top 4 or 5 players (rnh, huberdeau, landeskog, Larsson and maybe couturier) are all a good step above the rest of the class at least right now

The last mock that site had up had us picking Jurco. I don't know much about the Finn they had us taking. A talented winger is all I ask for though...

This has been talked about to death on the Devils board. I'm personally leaning toward Sean Couturier, although I really wouldn't mind any of the big 4.

Definitely need a top 6 forward coming down the pike soon. Maybe Beau Bennett soon. I am not sold on Tangradi.

I read something interesting the other day. Since 95 the Penguins have drafted only 3 wingers who have gone on to have a 20 goal season for the team.

Morozov, Malone and Kennedy. Thats a shame.

Hopefully those Cbus talks werent just bs rumors. Hopefully we can move Carts and another decent moneymaker (carle, versteeg)
