NHL '11

Anyone have this game for xbox or ps3? Looking at reviews online, gamespot gave it at 9.0 which is impressive and the gameplay on youtube looks fantastic. Is it a entertaining game? or is it much like the NBA games where it gets repetitive and boring after the 4th time playing it?

The "Be a Pro" stuff with the most recent couple NHL games makes it much more interesting to play. You really have to work to get your guy into the NHL and be a star...I like it.

I have a game called NHL Slapshot for the Wii.

It doesn't have all the GM depth of one of the other games. But you actually get to check, deke, and shoot the puck with your fake hockey stick and your body movements. It's not as realistic in the gameplay as EA's regular NHL games like NHL '11, but it's a hell of a lot of fun. When you're already standing up and moving around, it makes the moment you score a goal pretty awesome. Like I said, not as good overall, but it "feels" more like playing real hockey in terms of the movement and in your emotional reaction.

The individual player mode lets you go from pond hockey as an 8-year old up through juniors, the OHL, AHL, and finally the NHL. It's pretty cool.

NHL series are all great games, but there is a new one coming out in September, so you may wanna wait

EDIT Also, for the next month or so if anyone still wants to play in EASHL, I am looking for a new team and would like to play again in the league if anyone is interested, I play on PS3

Id wait till '12 came out as it's only a few months away.

NHL is a good game. Online kind of sucks. You either get lucky with goals, or get yelled at because you know where and how to score most of the time and the opponent is too bad to stop it.

Thanks guys for letting me know NHL '12 comes soon. Suprised '11 is still so high in price with the new one being released right around the corner. Got a lot of games on my wishlist this fall. MW3, NCAA '12, NBA 2k12. Gotta start saving!

Yea what everyone else said. NHL is a phenomenal series, but to save money wait for 12. Just a couple months away!!

Also unlike Madden the NHL series actually updates instead of just being a roster update.

I think I will definately buy NHL '12 this year. Maybe even purchase that on release date and wait to buy NBA 2k later in the year.
