couldn't the same be said for Mallet, Metenburger, and Bridgewater?

Probably for Bridgewater that was so long ago though. Mallet and Mettenberger took over because they were the better option. Fitzpatrick and Locker are both healthy, both are terrible, however. Now Mallet is done fore the season so we'll see what Houston does. Probably Tom Savage.

Thinking it rests on Hackenburg. Michigan used to be a farm system for the NFL. They went spread and it just has not been the same.

I agree. He is the prototypical NFL passer, but it seems as though he has regressed this year. I think he'll have a much better season next year though.

What does that have to do with anything?

at least be consistent when adding these up.

I think the fact that these players are #2s or at least on the depth chart should account for something.

I am not sure HE regressed as much as PSU regressed. PSU OL is ranked 124th in adjusted line stats. 109th in sack rate. Running for 3 yards a carry vs 4 last year. People love to look at QBs and skill position as the root of issues, but most issues are caused or solved by an OL

Bridgewater may have already taken over even if Cassel hadn't gotten hurt. Of course we don't know but Cassel got hurt in week 2, and its not as though Bridgewater came in for Tom Brady or anything.

Even still Stanton is clearly the back up and Cousins is 3rd string now. If you want to add Cassel fine, but the other two shouldn't be included.

That is true he does have very little to work with. I still feel as though I've seen him make more poor decisions this year than last year. And maybe that is a by product of the lack of talent around him. He still does have an NFL though. Penn State should be better on the line next year and all the young skill position people should be improved.

Bridgewater is the starter more so because Cassel and Ponder suck
