Its funny how everyone becomes a ref and the rule book comes out on these instances. There is only 1 thing that really matters: has anyone in their lives seen the refs call a pass uncatchable that was so close to the receiver? 35 years of watching football and I've ever only seen the call when it is 20 yds over the head and usually out of bounds. That was way "too" catchable even though Gronk most likely had no play. No way that isn't called if it wasn't the last drive of the game. Panthers got a PI call on Pats DB (McCourty I think) on drive earlier and that pass was way more uncatchable- 10 ft over the recievers head.
Lions vs Browns a few years ago on almost same play. remember Stafford got hurt on the play? Ran down to goal line and telling no one to touch his shoulder and then threw a TD. This play was even more egregious than the one the other night. Only difference is the Pats didn't get the call. Besides the tuck rule call (12 years ago), which was a rule, when have the Pats ever got the big call?
