That is my thinking. Why would you sign Rodgers as bad as he was last season.
Very un-Steelers like trading for DK and giving him a huge contract. Signing Rodgers would put the icing on the cake

The original thinking was incentivized by a younger version of Rogers showing up. Unfortunately, they bet everything on him and everyone except the owner lost their jobs on that bet. Now a year older and as big a head case as ever, he's still available to do what exactly,? cost more jobs? I don't think so and would not be surprised if, at the start of the 2025 regular season, he's at home... Inoculated!

I think Tomlin feels a sense of urgency
Maybe, but an urgency to do what...get fired? Rogers is caustic and now has a track record of destruction. Perhaps if his talents weren't so badly faded it might be worth a flier, but with this guy, you don't just get what remains of the talent, but 100% of an ego-driven, jackass!

I threw out Rodgers as a real possibility, but my statement was more in harmony with the post about this is not what the steelers typically do(dk trade). I think Tomlin feels a sense of urgency to get back to the superbowl. Not necessarily because he's on the hot seat, but to get back to the steeler way

I'm sure once they are done with this, their attention will turn to the Hendrickson situation.
