As a east coast fan and a golfer (or try to be golfer)...not as big on CFB so I play on Sat. mostly and typically practice on Sun morning...get back around 10:30-11...fire the grill up...or maybe some light lawn work, then the games are on.

Back when I had my real man cave there were no SNF games...Sundays from Sept to Feb was a pretty much a party with 6 to 8 of us from noon till about 8p...now...I'm watching by myself mostly. I rarely ever see the end of the 8p games unless it's my team or a really good game.

My son and I pretty much watch alone together. He's 34 but lives with us (epileptic).

It's a full day of guy shit. With a brief upstairs stint around brunch time when I'll cook up bacon and eggs and such while watching the games upstairs. He works the remote while I cook. The missus stays out of the way till food is ready.

Then it's back downstairs..... It really get's full lately because we like Formula 1 racing and that's not over yet, plus there is World Cup rugby on the go to be squeezed in as well.

It'a dirty job somebody has to do it and we're up to the task...

It's never going to happen. This is Goodell's stupid brain child that actually has to do with something besides screwing over the players union. It's been "5 years away" for over a decade. Let Goodell have his fun and we'll continue to have our novelty game over there, which is the only thing that could fill a stadium.

Cause then you will have a whole new fan base suggesting changes they'd like to see.

Like tea and crumpets at 1/2 time. Or yellow and red cards for various things.

I say no to over the ditch expansion. NFL is not a world sport.

......hank,....last I heard = The NFL is shown all-over the world,....have you seen the fans at Wemblay-Stadium when we play there = they're fkkn ecstatic....!,......and they love to bet on US too...*wink*.

It might be shown all over the world but it is not rabidly accepted all over the world.

Soccer, Rugby and cricket are probably way more popular.

.....true.

Which is what I meant by "World Sport".

Baseball might even be ahead of it, and maybe even hoops.

After that last statement, I'm gonna have to go stick my finger down my throat and relieve the back pressure it caused...

But for me, if I had to go to a desert island and only have one sport with me, it would be NFL. Hockey would take a back seat and everything else would be forgotten....

I love London games. It's great to wake up and watch football instead of twiddling my thumbs for hours waiting for the games to start.
The London are awesome in my book. I have to set an alarm. And sometimes Im still a little drunk. But Id be happy to see 8 games a year.

Even though I know eventually the Lions will be a "home" team.

But i think they should figure out some kind of double bye. 8 games a year, extra bye week over other season per team.

Agree with what most are saying. The logistics of having an NFL team so many miles away creates an immediate disadvantage for the home team, and the team that would have to travel overseas. I say base the team in some U.S. city that does not have one and make the London fans travel to the states to watch the games ... right ... Maybe the Queen can sell some assets and foot the bill??

I wake up at 11am on Sundays and there's like 5 games already at halftime.

Meh, I've heard it all before, COUNTLESS times. One of the previous boards I hung at people told me that Ricky Williams would EASILY set the new CFL season rushing mark.

Ooops. He was only about 1200 yards short.

And your point above works against you. Why weren't guys like Wake in the NFL right away?

Having the CFL is a good thing for the NFL.

Yes I had the pleasure of watching Flutie right here in Calgary. He still couldn't get a break in the NFL with a REAL chance though.

Swervin' Mervyn Fernandez was a really good receiver, but a 'legend?' up here? Meh. Two time all-star, rookie of the year. Fabulous player, and if he'd have stayed and not chased the NFL dream, he MIGHT have become a legend.
well the CFL isnt a rushing league anyway with only 2 workable downs. on a 3 and out in the nfl, you probably get 2 carries. on a 2 and out up there, youre lucky to get 1. the wider field and larger gap on the LOS (bigger neutral zone) in theory would give guys more room to run. maybe i havent watched enough. i never claimed to.
all i know is elite talent typically ends up here, then goes up there to fizzle out. guys dont say "its my lifelong dream to play for calgary" typically. unless theyre canadian.
the nfl is the end game for every kid playing football. the cfl is a side route, like playing baseball in japan.

London team by 2022? NFL continues to forge forward in U.K.

The first game of the Wembley series was in 2007. It was hatched as a 15-year project with the endgame resulting in London getting a franchise of its own. So based on that timeline, we're more than halfway home. Those running the show in the U.K. still see 2022 as the target. Friday's summit is more proof of that.

"It's a realistic time frame," NFL Executive Vice President for International Mark Waller said Wednesday. "But there are still things we need to test for, so we have to be able to build a lot of things into the next few years. We don't need to prove as much on the fan-demand side. We feel comfortable that, in a few years, we'll be where we need to be there. The real focus is doing things to keep testing. We're really focusing on the logistical and operational side."
