Add 12lbs to WR Westbrook OU..!?!
Not sure i'm reading the above right, cause i recall the deal is for TWO 2nd round picks in 2018.
Anyway, thats ok because it depends on what chart you use? Plus, even if your chart shows it is short, i would take that deal. IMO no one else is going to come close to this deal.
I think we can somewhat dismiss any chart system when it comes to trade value.....especially this year. I also see the latest 'Niners are interested in Trubisky @ 2' are just attempts to make Cleveland A) Take Trubisky @ 1, B) make Cleveland try and trade up to #2 to ensure they get the QB after they've taken Garrett @ 1, or C) enticing one of those other teams in the top 10 to move up to guarantee they get their player.
Scenario A) Niners end up with Garrett, unless somebody else wants to move up? Consensus best player in the draft is a good thing. As stupid as Cleveland can be....I don't see them passing on the pass rusher.
Scenario B) I also don't see Cleveland making their way from 12 to 2, and even if we gather up some picks in that scenario, SF loses out on the upper echelon talent (unless they decide to move back up).
Scenario C) Also a good situation to gather more picks, and Derek Barnett or Malik Hooker potentially still on the board in all likelyhood, so that's a win.
In the end, Lynch and Shanahan have to go out of their way to let me down....SF is in a good position one way or the other. Solomon Thomas @ 2 from a realistic point of view, is the pick I've wanted for a while. I'd have no issues with Adams/Allen/Barnett/Fournette/Hooker/Lattimore with that pick either, or of course Garrett.
Adam Schefter states the Browns, based on some really, really credible sources, are leaning to take Trubisky @ 1. Chris Mortensen is also pretty specific with a deal in place with Chicago: Niners give up their 2nd and 34th pick for the Bears 3rd overall, the 36th, 67th, a 2nd round pick in 2018 and a 3rd rounder in 2019. I wonder if these two rumours are tied together - Chi wants Garrett/knows the Browns are going Trubisky allowing Garrett to fall into the 49ers hands.
You see a lot of bull thrown at the wall right before the draft, but these guys are pretty credible.
Kind of difficult to believe Chicago would make a move based on what they've heard the Browns are going to.

As tempting as this would be, i'd go ahead and draft Garrett.
Now if they do take this trade instead, i'd then TRY to trade down again from #3.
Yeah.....it looks like ESPN is a sinking ship, and with all the cuts, I'd bet they are desperate for anything to boost ratings. Despite all the smoke and mirrors from guys like Schefter, I'll stand with Garrett @ 1.....the Trubisky talk is nothing but talk.
With the 24 hours news cycle and everyone wanting to be first person to break a story, stuff gets thrown out there quickly all the time and more than half of it isn't true. Like the time the 49ers were going to make a three way trade to get Kirk Cousins
If Garret drops I hope we make a trade. Garret being there plus a QB off the board means our #2 pick is highly valuable. I'm not sold on Garret and would rather fall back some and take Fournette, Thomas, or one of the safeties. If drop out of the top 10 then I'm ok going QB with Watson or Mahomes.
I'm pretty ready to nerd out on the draft today. I like that we're basically spinning around in a circle firing off a roman candle in regards to any leads on who we're taking. Such a far cry from the civ that once was the 49ers FO. I like what Lynch and Shanny have done so far in the off season and can't wait to see what they do with this draft.
haaa, good for you.
In this unusual make-up of this draft class, what happens in rounds 2 thru 4 will play a larger than normal roll. This draft class isn't strong at the very top, with only Garrett as 'elite', but the depth seems very strong.
I'm for BPA whomever they are, and our top picks (first 3) could easily be defensive.
