From the looks of it Quinn is the winner, but considering everyone has bought into the idea that Sherman is a shutdown corner, made a name for himself and plays for the best defense and team makes me believe that he has the best chance to win.

I hope Quinn takes it but I think Kuechly will. It's gonna be a tough race with all of them.

I would say, one of the 3 best defenses and include San Fran in there. Yes Kuechly is deserving of a lot of credit but as I stated earlier, he's a media darling and that plays into it. I don't think Quinn should be left out because the team doesn't make the play-offs in the toughest division in football this year.

yes SF has the #3/#3 D, just a step behind Carolina and Seattle who are both #1/#2

as for media darling, that is going to be the guys with all the sacks or INTs, not the blue collar MLB with all the tackles (Yawn. Boring!), although Kuechly also has 7 passes defensed and 4 INT (#10 in NFL)

as for Quinn, it's tough to win if you don't play on a great defense or a great team. that's why Jared Allen didn't win in 2011 despite having 22 sacks, 67 tackles, 4 forced fumbles, 4 fumble recoveries, 4 passes defended, 1 INT, 1 safety

Quinn plays for a 7-8 team with the #13/#17 defense. Meanwhile Seattle and Carolina both have the #1/#2 defense and are 12-3 and 11-4

compare to the defenses and teams that previous NFL DPOY have played for:
2012 - #7/9 defense - 12-4, 1st in AFC South
2011 - #3/3 defense - 12-4, 1st in AFC North
2010 - #1/2 defense - 12-4, 1st in AFC North
2009 - #2/7 defense - 11-5, 2nd in NFC North
2008 - #1/1 defense - 12-4, 1st in AFC North
2007 - #1/3 defense - 13-3, 1st in AFC South
2006 - #4/5 defense - 6-10, 4th in AFC East
2005 - #1/2 defense - 11-5, 1st in NFC North
2004 - #6/6 defense - 9-7, 2nd in AFC North
2003 - #3/6 defense - 10-6, 1st in AFC North
2002 - #1/1 defense - 12-4, 1st in NFC South

I think Lavonte David has to be mentioned. although he doesnt lead in any one category, he's done well in many of them. over 101 tackles, 6 sacks, 5 ints, 10 passes defended. I think he's probably the all-around DPOY

also worth a mention i think is Sean Lee. He may well have been heading for this award before his late season injury

I have Kuechly as the guy this season. Quinn second ,Sherman third...not that they give anything for runner-ups but they have had a great season thus far.

Yeah Karlos Dansby should be on there. Interesting to see a Seattle fan put 2 Seahawk players on there.
