Palmer did quit, but he never imploded on his team. It's hard to really be upset at him for wanting out. The team he was a part of was 100% dysfunctional. Yeah, that's not the way to handle it, but when he was on the field, he never once imploded like Cutler.

For all of Romo's faults, most of the choke issues have come in the playoffs, and not regular season. Also, you can question a lot of the play calling that led to those issues.

Cutler was so good that we are now talking abotu TWO teams trying to get rid of him, and a coach/GM losing their jobs over his extension and inability to get the most out of him. It's been the same story for years.

Could he be better here? Maybe, but Marvin doesn't really seem to want those types of players on this team.

Just go ahead and say it with me...Dalton is our QB. Love it, hate it, it makes no difference. This is just how it will be.

No two players have identical careers. I'm pointing out maligned, veteran QBs who've performed better when their surroundings changed.

Also I don't think Cutler imploded. He completed 66 percent of his passes with an 89 passer rating and over 250 yards per game. He can play QB in the NFL. That's what the stats say and that's what my personal opinion of him is based on the eyeball test.

I know there's no chance of him replacing Dalton. But in Buffalo Rex Ryan gives him a coach who's the center of media attention and deflects the spotlight from his players. He potentially would have the best defense in the league. He just has to hit a couple big passes to Sammy Watkins every game and they're in the playoffs.

This gets into conspiracy theory territory, but I find it curious that Trestman as his OC was a done deal when Ryan was rumored to Atlanta but then when Ryan gets the job in Buffalo he's never mentioned again.

It's not that Cutler's a top 5 QB. But he's best possible option you'll find as a veteran QB if he hits the market barring something miraculous happening with another team

Agreed there.

But unfortunately, or fortunately...whatever your view...he won't be coming here.

To bad Mikey is in bed with Marvin. There are actually some HC options this year.

I think Rex, Marone, or Mike Smith would all be upgrades over Marvin.

Add John Fox to the list

I also have a hard time blaming John Fox for Denver's postseason failures.... The Baltimore game from a couple of years ago was just a huge mistake on the part of the safety added to that weird Flacco postseason magic.

The past two postseasons were sunk when Peyton started playing like garbage.

If Bellicheck wasn't such a mind-freak, John Fox would look good. you got a coach making his team come out with 4 OL and a RB that says, with seconds left "oh by the way ref, I'm not an eligible receiver, it's ok due to page ### in the rule book"

and the ref has to let it go on, dumbfounded because he doesn't know the rules like he should, and the other coach kicks and screams.

That's what it takes to succeed in the NFL... you have to be better than everyone else, you gotta do EVERYTHING in your power (bend the rules, cheat, whatever) to win. When people think they stay inside the lines 24/7 and think inside the box and win, they are fooling themselves.

Fox will be ok, notice that Josh McDaniels eventually found himself OC'ing at New England. they might even be the favorites to win this week and go to the superbowl. right now, the gig that has you going to the superbowl is still the better gig.

John Fox took Jake 'Fucking' Delhome to the Super Bowl..... And almost won.

John Fox took Tim 'Freakin' (can't cuss around virgin ears) Tebow to the playoffs and won.

I don't understand how guys like him get fired, while someone like Marvin...... Oh, never mind.

Seen a lot of Fox down here in ATL when he was with CAR...Most of the time it's never just one guy...but some coaches you can give them SB talent and they can get you close, but they can't get over the hump...imo that's John Fox.

LY they got beat by a better team but no way was SEA 30 pts (or whatever the mrgin was) better than DEN...but when you ignore the run and go all in to the pass...you end up wearing your own DEF and you get blown out.

I think a dz HC in the league could've won 12 gms with that roster...Peyton had a rough game, but e had nothing to do with a weak DEF effort (zero sacks and your #1 CB getting torched repeatedly with all that $ spent in FA on DEF?) Allowing a lessor talented team to come into your back yard and win rather convincingly gives pause...something was not quite right in DEN.

Apparently Dick LeBeau is a little ambivalent about going to AZ because it would be too far away from his family members that live near Cincinnati.

I suppose it would just make too much sense for Marvin to bring him back here.

That Super Bowl started going downhill vey quickly.... Peyton's early fumble certainly didn't set the tone.

As for last Sunday..... Manning wasn't right. He could't pass the ball more than 10 yards. The offense had absolutely no rhythm because Peyton didn't have a rhythm. I feel sorry for the team that hires Adam Gase -- Maybe he'll be a good coach, but maybe he's just lucky to have been the OC on a Manning led team.

Marvin doesn't want any coaches on his staff who are better coaches than him or that have emotions.

Here's my thoughts on PM in general...he doesn't respect the running game enough...he wants the passing game to be the catalyst...I guess he doesn't realize that his only SB win...Edge was the key pc to get them over the hump.

So...when Fox and Gase all gathered out there in COLO...they basically just bought into what PM wanted to do...the FO had to issue a mandate to get them to commit to the run? That's shouldn't be...yeah...clearly he wasn't 100% in that game, then why in the hell are you repeatedly audibling to these long passes when you're not able to complete them?

They had way too many pro bowl players on that squad to lose to IND...at home.

Because that's what the D was giving them..... Colts players say they jammed up the middle and bumped the receivers at the line making Peyton have to take cracks either down field or outside the numbers. Peyton's a smart player - He knows where the ball is supped to go. He just didn't do a good job getting in there. Probably had to do with an injury.

Yes, I'm a TN boy, been watching PM a long time, you're right...he's a smart guy...IND was playing a lot of press coverage, but slants, pick plays, bunch formations, timing outs all work against press coverage.

PM is a helluva lot smarter than me when it comes to playing QB...I'm not saying he should never have gone deep, but to continuously do it when you're not able to make the throws put them in bad down and distance or punts, putting the DEF right back on the field....for all the talk about Romo to Bryant catch or no catch...it was 4th down, he wasn't wide open, why not take the more sure pass and get a 1st down?

One big difference between Brady and Manning...Brady doesn't care how they get it done...as long as they get it done...PM is such a perfectionist that if they win 30-10 and he goes 15-for 30 190 yd 1 TD...he's not happy.
