My guess as to why the Saint D was bad in `11 was because your team was right in the middle of the bounty gate investigation that was wrapped up and completed with sanctions in the spring of 2012.
That is understandable. When your team is reported to be injuring or maiming opposing players for money, backing off would be an expected response to the investigation.
Yet, IIRC your team was playing dirty in that playoff game and the is why you got the Marshawn Salute when he flew over the goal line on the best run in NFL playoff history.

I do...... A 35 to 24 thrashing by the Bears in which Lynch averaged half a yard per carry. The score really doesn't do justice to that trampling when Golden Tate was your leading rusher with 11 yards.

I take great delight in watching how a loser attempts to discredit back to back thrashings at the hands of their #1 nemesis and hated rival.
