Winning a game like that does, yes, involve luck.

But if that is all someone sees in a game like that, they are missing some of the greatest things about sports: perseverance, determination to never give up and the ability to make crucial plays to take advantage of the luck that dropped into your lap.

I didnt care who wins, but I thought that was a great game. Dont give a shit about the 'sloppiness' factor of most of the game. Sometime big moments/big games come with 'sloppiness'.

It's the overcoming all of that, that's what interests me.

I'm not a fan of either team...

i don't care who you're a fan of, harping about luck that much denotes a loser mentality.

yes, luck had something to do with it. that was 1 piece, and you chose to focus on it 100% with your moronic post.

that's what losers do.

own it.

WOW Packers just choked away their shot at the Super Bowl, congrats to the Seahawks who get to defend their title.

Yeah, I don't understand that slide. Run it back and try to put your team in a position to score more points. It's not as though it was one of those end of game situations where the other team's only hope is that you fumble the ball during your interception return.

Good point .... And yes having a little luck is just part of it sometimes ... You create your opportunities, and then a little luck is always welcomed ...

Luck has been the name of the game in the NFC playoffs. As a Dallas fan we were fortunate to beat Detroit. GB was fortunate to beat Dallas (Murray fumble, GB fumble on KO return and 2 Dallas players blow recovering it, Dez catch/no catch, and 3rd down pass tipped for a 1st down) and then Seattle fortunate to beat GB. NFC playoffs have been crazy.

Congrats, man. I couldn't believe it. Five TO's and they still won. Seattle has to be feeling invincible right now.
In my 50+ years of watching football, I have never seen a team that commits 5 turnoffs win a game. Congrats Seahawks, you were very fortunate to win this game.

It was clutch, but he needed miracle (on sides kick) after miracle (the 2 point Hail Mary) and luck (coin flip) to turn it around.
LMFAO, come on dude, there is no luck in pro football. Green bay should have been up 23 or 30-0 at halftime. Yes the Hawks were fortunate to get the onside kick, but damn the Green bay player had a chance to recover the onside kick, but couldn't hold on to it. If you want to call that luck, then so be it, but IMO the Pack choked big time. Also how was the two point conversion luck? The Pack knew it was coming and couldn't stop it.

Lol, because GB forced them into stupid penalties and making decisions Wilson hasn't made his ENTIRE career? :L

I'm not taking anything away from GB. Stop being so fucking sensitive. Seattle played like shit and it wasn't forced. That's not saying anything bad about GB. In addition to Seattle playing bad, their defense was swarming and added to the problem and their offense did what it needed to to win.

You typed this and tell me not to be sensitive?? :L

You Seahawks fans are something else.

If there was anything lucky about that win, then I suppose the Seahawks were lucky their opponents squandered opportunity after opportunity to put the game away or get out to a bigger lead. It all started with that completely unnecessary unsportsmanlike penalty after the first INT, which may have cost the Packers a TD vs. settling for a FG. I was watching the game with neutral fans who didn't understand why I had a bad feeling at halftime despite my team being up 16-0. When you blow so many chances to put more points up against a great team like Seattle, odds are it's going to be come back to bite you in the ass, and it certainly did.

I think that the prevent ultimately cost the pack this game...they had them many times but didn't go for the jugular especially on D. Either way the Hawks hung in and didn't give up. That should have been the bowl game....

The replay of this game is on the NFLN if anyone is interested. It's about halfway through the 3rd quarter.

Seems like Smart has an unhealthy Russel Wilson obsession

Seattle fans are very happy with RW. But we all need to wait several years before we argue about where he stands. Same for Luck. Both are good, both are young and today they both had less than stellar performances.

I'd guess NEVER. :noidea:

George Blanda threw 5 INTs against San Diego to win the AFL Championship in 1961. I don't know about any other playoff games, but this was the only other time a QB threw at least 4 INTs and still won a conference championship game.
