Gotta tell ya: If you thought playing at noon local time on 10th day of 11 day road trip would mean good baseball, you were mistaken

Since the 7th inn. last night, A.Rendon now has 6 hits (5 singles, HR) in as many at-bats. He entered the 7th last nite in a 5-for-43 funk.

He decided to get well on some poor pitching performances it seems.

That's the worst I've seen Tep I think ever. I was barking at him via the tube for continuing to throw the lefties low, and inside, where they were just cranking. But he just didn't have it today. It happens to the best of em.

Very true, wish it hadn't happened when I started him in all 3 of my leagues. 18.00 ERA in 2 innings ouch

Odor is not showing any plate discipline at all.

Romeo and I were making note of this in days past.

I think the more teams have seen him the poorer the pitches will get, b/c he'll swing at anything. Why throw him a strike?

I was listening to Hitzges this past week and he made note that Profar and Odor in almost the exact same number of AB in the minors, Odor had 100 fewer walks than Profar.

The kid needs to be in Choo's back pocket as long as he's up, learning how to be selective and work counts and not swing at everything

I agree with ya. But some guys, regardless of age/experience aren't going to change. Not saying this kid is set in his ways. We just don't know yet.

AJP is a free swinger, always was and always will be, and had no interest in being anything else. Has been in the majors and playing pretty well for almost 2 decades. And there's been tons of players who found success by saying "the hell with a bunch of walks" and flailing away.

This is going to sound racist, but a lot of the Latin American players see their free swinging ways as the only way to the big leagues and a better life for their families. At least it seems this way to me.

Need to get Choo off that ankle and hope Darvish feels good tomorrow and can keep his pitch count down, may need him to go real deep

:agree:.........I don't know why we don't give Choo time to rest. Besides, he's slumping, like big time. Of course this sore ankle can't be helping matters much.

Ghee Wash, give the guy some bench/whirlpool time. We've got an off day coming. I'd rest Choo tomorrow in the finale against DC, travel day and even consider giving him the day - maybe half day - off at home against the O's.

If it works for him then so be it, pretty hard to argue with success. If he is given the opportunity to learn from someone like Choo and then chooses to continue to be hacktastic and that approach generates results for him I would say to each his own.

That's not racist, it's called observation. And it's a well known fact that Latin American players are encouraged to play the game wide open and discipline is not a major concern. Our country has gotten too PC when people are worried about something like this being racist.

Not much to watch there. We'll need a hell of a game from Yu because it appears we woke a sleeping giant.

I've watched both games and as sorry as the pitching has been the defense has been equally bad. Lots to do if we win even one game.

You do know I was being facetious don't ya?

We really do need for Darvish to step up tomorrow, not worry about his Ks and pitch deep into the game. Have some good low pitch innings early and stop the bleeding,

As much as people bitch about losing his starts, couldn't really tell, didn't make it apparent either

OK....I'll try to be more "transparent" moving forward.

I think if you look back on the overall conversation, you'll see it was an obvious tongue-n-cheek moment.

Unfortunately, I am far too often to considered the polar opposite of PC. I step on my dick like there's no tomorrow in this category.

But I agree with ya. Our society has gotten so overt in making sure we don't offend anyone, that I'm offended by this. If that makes any sense.

The Cardinals pitched a SO today and didn't walk a man. Hmmmmmm.....so that's what they look like. Only 132 pitches while beating the Giants, and SF threw only 113.

Pitching in it's finest hour; a 2 zip game in 2:29.

What is so obvious that this was a tongue in cheek comment?

Start on page 12....not far back and read the posts.

Nightcrawler had already punted the 3 game series and we, collectively, called his hand. DT and Grey got it for sure me thinks.
