Who do you think will or should be the next captain ?


Danny Briere- might not be the obvious pick but who has been more clutch then this guy when we needed it in the last few years?

Chris Pronger- I dont think an explanation is needed here

Claude Giroux- Do we just give it to him now and let him run with it?

Really torn on this one to be honest. I really wouldnt mind seeing Pronger get it as long as he can stay on the ice, but really the most logical answer would be to give it to Briere. He's got the experience as a C and another good 3-4 years at least of being able to play at this level. While it seems to me that Giroux is fully capable of captaining the team, I really dont want to see another youngster with promise thrown into the captaincy too soon ala Richie.

Really. When you see the Giroux option, you immediately have to think of Richie and sigh. He may very well lead the team in points, but he is not the leader of the team and he's too young for it regardless.

Pronger is the easy choice and the only choice.

Thats actually not a bad Idea. Or maybe do the co-captain thing like they did in Buffalo with Briere/Drury. Maybe give a C to our second choice (Briere, Timmo) and let them have it whenever Pronger is inevitably out.

I said Pronger the day Richie was traded and I will stick to it. Pronger should and he will be our next captain. Many sources have been saying for awhile Pronger will be wearing the "C."

I'd go with Briere,with Giroux and Timonen as assistants.You know they're going to work in Giroux for the "C",so break him in slowly.
