From the press conference today. Several games announced. Claimed "gameplay" trailers but its mostly cinematic trailers using in game engine stuff. You can watch the whole conference (27 mins) or just read the recap. I gotta say, while some of this looks impressive, I'll probably wait at least a year before getting the console. For one, I still need to get a 4k TV. And with Smart Delivery, I can play a game new game on my old console (like Valhalla) and upgrade it later on the new console if I feel like it.

ZERO reason to buy one of these if you have a gaming PC... but I understand a gaming PC that will blow PS5/XBOX out of the water is going to run you probably $900-$1,000 more... not everyone can spend that money.

It'll be PS5 (exclusives) and a PC upgrade for me in a year.

PS4 gave me Until Dawn, FF7 Remake, Last of Us, God of War, Bloodbourne, and the Uncharted series... that was worth the $400 I think I blew on the console package + games. All of those were memorable (still playing FF7).

I had PS1, PS2, PS3...We went Nintendo during the last generation as the kids were younger and games were more appealing/fitting. My eldest, turning 13 before year-end, has decided he wants the XBox Series X over PS5...sooo...Not like father, like son. Is this going to be an absolute debacle where I'm dealing with idiots reselling at stupid marked up prices to get one of these things between now and his birthday in December?

Chances are that you wont get one when they release... if its close to christmas... people will buy and scalp them. The nvidia rtx 3080 was sold out nationwide in a few minutes and people are scalping them... bought for $799 some selling for $1500...

I mean...They come out in November...so I'll try to find one...but yeah, kid might be disappointed into January because I'm not dropping a grand on something that costs $500 retail. I'll hook him up with this 2 year online gamepass deal I'm readin' about. That'll soften the blow.

Without a question. This thing will be sold out in 2 secs and then resold for triple on ebay...

My boys will be fine with the xbox one and PS4 for awhile. Of course they will want this but I am not going to pay triple for it and just wait till the market slows down for them. I'm eldes son has gotten into his PS4 VR and my other son has a xbox one to play. They are mostly into Fortnight and play together between consoles. The new Star wars game I just found out about on another thread here would be awesome to play in VR mode. So again, I will be skipping the hype of these for now.

51 minutes of refreshing but I succeeded in putting an order in with Microsoft website itself last night at 1 freaking AM. Estimated delivery is 12/23...My CC already shows the pending charge online...but the email I received says I won't be charged until it ships...SHENANIGANS!
