Pffft. I've never been good with math. Unless it somehow involves my money. Then I'm a numbers wizard. I fully embrace the fact I suck at math. You still like me though.

If it makes you feel any better. English is evil too and it's my native tongue. So yeah. My brain is all kinds of messed up. But I make it work.

Man, you hate both math and English? Those and diagrams are the languages I speak!

We're going to have a language barrier, I think...

Which is also mathematically impressive in its own right.

BTW, A string cut in half makes the same note only at a higher pitch.

I always wanted to learn music because I think the math behind it is fascinating, but I just don't have the time. Maybe after I finish graduate school or over the summers or something...

Yeah, take that.

I remember once one of our developers had drawn out this complex architectural diagram with arrows and code snippets and everything and presented it to a group. He asked me what I thought, and I said "Looks good. I especially enjoyed the obvious joke you threw in".

He stared at that diagram for a good two days after that.

that I do know. you check the intonation on a guitar by making sure that the open string is the same note (octave lower) with it's harmonic, which is resonated at the halfway point between the bridge and the nut.
Music theory actually became easier for me when it clicked that it was just math.
