Because it has been beating like a dead horse. We get it, he sucks donkey balls and is not worth being an NFL QB. Except the fact he will be here another 8 years, so I hope you are ready for that since Mike Brown and Marvin Lewis call the shots, not you or I, so very little reason discussing the WHAT IF game repeatedly. Once in a while is cool, but every topic, every post it seems is about Dalton. For F sakes, this entire board is so infatuated with him it is sickening.

I just wanted to discuss a few other topics, I am sorry if I am not allowed to post several topic ideas in one thread. I figured a nice long running topic that didn't involve Dalton would be nice, however, post #2 derailed that almost immediately, even if Doug was just poking fun.

The entire topic, I gave several good topics, 2/3 of them are still about F'ing Dalton! Even if I seperated the f'n topics, 2/3rd fo the comments would be about Dalton, that regardless of what happens here or here, as long as we have Dalton, we suck. There is no getting around it with you knuckleheads is the problem.

Can we just discuss something else for a while? We can get back to Dalton on Sunday afternoon when he is f'n up the game with a 65% completion percentage, 330+ yards and 3 TD passes. That f'n bum. I hate it when my QB can't get closer to 90% completion and throw for 500 yards with 7 TD's. That is what an NFL QB now a days should be doing, every other QB in the NFL does it, why can't Dalton?

Okay, how about them Reds?

It's only because we are just a quarterback away from being a serious super bowl contender. And as long as Andy Dalton is here, we'll stay that way, unless he suddenly improves out of the blue.

If you believe that, I've got a fucking bridge to sell you and some swamp land for Condos as well.

Dalton hasn't been great, but he's gotten them to win. Too many people just want to be fucking dicks to be fucking dicks and hate on people.

You simply can't just add X player from another team and say that this team would instantly be a Super Bowl contender...it doesn't work that way, and to think otherwise is foolish at best, and fucking stupid at worst.

Crash you are asking an easy question that people simply don't want to answer because they can't. They can't open their minds past their hate of one player because it would mean actually accepting that there could be other issues with this team that prevent them from being the best they could be. Don't waste your time.

I do believe that, and Dalton's limitations are what is holding this offense back. If you can't see that for yourself, then look in the mirror before you start calling people fucking stupid. Seattle is scoring nearly 30 points per game with a below average offensive line and very ordinary receivers.

Why so angry? It's the weekend! :yahoo:

I *politely* disagree..... Yes, this team has plenty of other issues. As do the other 31 teams. With 53 man rosters and salary caps, it's simply impossible to be great across the board. But great quarterbacks make all the difference. All the rules are slanted toward the passing game.

The area around Dayton Mall is complete yuppy-ville now. I'm building a deck near there and when I broke for lunch the 1st day I drove around and was shocked to see what has developed over the past 5 years.

Peyton Manning.

Andrew Luck would as well. He makes TY Hilton look like an All Pro

I think TY Hilton's a great vertical threat. He'd be an asset to any offense.

They do need a young #1 WR to eventually take the place of Wayne

Nah. 1st part of my post was just causing a shit storm. I was bored. I was out of town with the wife visiting her parents, and I had nothing better to do. The past two weeks have been dead on this board, so I thought I'd do my best to stir something up.

The last part of my post is kind of true though. The whole thread is about (or supposed to be) OTHER areas of the team that need improvement. I don't think we got past just a few posts before someone had to mention the QB.

We all get that Dalton has his limitations. There's no debating that he lacks the elite arm-strenght that is going to allow AJ to really take advantage of his vertical speed. His bread and butter is always going to be 6-15 yards, and hoping that the WR is in position to make good YAC.

Now, seeing that Hall has gone down, this team needs another experienced CB. Kirkpatrick hasn't shown that he's ready, and Jones is alright, but I don't trust him. I also think he's still going to end up getting suspended at some point this year. Just knowing how Roger works, he'll wait another week, and then lower the boom on the Bengals and Pac-man. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Another area that could be improved instantly...bench Gresham...to third string. Seriously. The guy is a mental wash out there. He's a moron. He must lead the league in pre-snap penalties, and then factor in clutch time penalties...He's worthless. Start Eiffert, and when you need 2 TE's, move to Smith or even start using Charles (if he's ever active) some more back at his natural TE spot.

I've noticed that, too.

Surely Middletown still has some skeevy place to hold a message board fight club?

Enough said.... That explains the rage.

As for Gresham -- That whole, 2 tight end thing really starts to fail when one of them is a complete knucklehead. It's a real shame too, because I think Eifert is starting to get comfortable with NFL speed. I think he's going to get better and better as the year rolls on. If we could have good Jermaine for the entire game, our offense would be tough to stop. Unfortunately, their is no such thing..... There is enough of a body of work now to know what you're getting with him. You have to take all the bullshit with the few moments of good and I'm just not sure it's worth it anymore.

Maybe it was smart to keep Orson.

Makes me wonder how much Eiffert will play in a 1 TE set once Hawkins returns. You could simply take advantage of the middle with him in the slot and Eiffert in at TE...though you can't run an up-tempo offense like they would like with 2 TE's...they aren't taking advantage of this anyway.

I always thought the Salem Mall in Trotwood was the place to have the battle royales. I always thought the Dayton Mall was Yuppieville.
