How does the playoffs work in this league again??

Sorry I've been taking a break from the hoop and haven't been on here for a week. I sent out an email last night that should have explained it, but the regular season runs through this week and then the top two teams in each division will make the Championship bracket with #1 playing #4 and #2 playing #3 with the winners playing each other in week 16 for the championship and the losers playing each other in week 16 to see who finishes 3rd and who finishes 4th. There will also be a Consolation bracket in which the next four teams regardless of division will get in with the winner finishing in 5th place. So in week 15 #5 will play #8 and #6 will play #7 with the winners facing off against each other to see who finishes 5th.

I am kind of happy the playoffs don't start this week as I HATE my matchups this week...

But with that said, I would have liked it to start just so I would definitely be in it... Now, I need to Either win this week or hope for Golf to Lose...

We are tied right now, and I have the tie breaker

So I sent an email out, but for those of you that didn't get it, @MilkSpiller22 got hosed by the NFL this week. He originally won his matchup last week by less than a point which put him tied with Golfislife in the division for 2nd place and he held the points tie-breaker over Golfislife so Milk advanced to the championship bracket as the #3 seed. Well, the NFL in its infinite wisdom took a tackle away from his defender (Anthony Hitchens) when stat corrections came out, which made him lose his matchup last week, which knocked him into 3rd place in the division, which knocked him into the consolation bracket as the #5 seed. I'm really sorry Milk and I'm also sorry I didn't see it sooner, but unfortunately I didn't have a choice but to change it.

honestly, this was a lose lose situation for you too... Sucks for me... but forget about how i feel for a minute...

the question is when is a game official?? is it when the commish creates the playoffs or is it when the NFL can LAST change a scoring??

Personally, if i was the commish i would have not changed it... But i am sure you would hear bitching either way...

MAYBE the best way to do it, is let ME and Golf both be the 3 seed, and see which of the 3 of us has the best score this week... But that even sounds too PARICIPATION TROPHY-esque...

I hear you. I actually submitted that same question to Fantrax and they said that no scores are official until 12:01am on the Thursday following games because stat corrections are done on Wednesdays. That wasn't a problem back before we had Thursday games, but now that we have one of those every week it makes it a great big pain in the ass.

I have seen this happen in other leagues before. On most sites, games do not become official until some time on Thursday. The exact time usually varies from site to site, but it is always on Thursday. I have to put this disclaimer up a lot in my main league, but that is the way it is. I have found that it is mostly a defensive tackle or sack or something that gets changed, so the more IDPs you use, the more chance of it affecting games.

With the disclaimer, all would be good... Because that's the rules... Problem is when you don't account for it... Most leagues don't use default playoff settings... so most leagues set up their playoffs before Thursday... Which just clouds everything up, because it questions when games are truly official...
