They can post all the stats they want. But they forgot the most important stat, 1-8. And that was without Lucroy and Beltran.

Well, since we smoked their asses to end the season last year, and as you pointed out, we're 8-1 this season, perhaps it's time to fire your manager Houston. ha

Then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but his failure to put together ML ABs to me would scare me away

Fair enough. I just don't put too much into those 15 ABs he has had this season. I mean look at Desmond's start and where he is now. Granted, thats apples and oranges... Desmond has shown flashes of his abilities as an MLB vet past. Gallo really just needs more opportunities before we can get a good idea IMO. I can totally see him developing a lot like Chris Davis did.

To be fair, Chris Davis hit over .300 in AAA. Something Gallo hasn't even come close to doing.

Yeah, that's a good point. He has at least shown some improvement overall at the AAA level this season though.

He's was having those issues last year, and wasn't great in AAA, .246 average i believe, yeah it still goes a long way when he hits it, but that still has to happen on a regular basis

I still think he can be good, but I feel that Brinson was the bigger loss and I do believe that it wasn't the Rangers holding him out but instead the Brewers choosing to focus elsewhere

Think we are pretty much on the same page here.

Boy, talk about delusional.....LARGE advantage for the Dis-Astros everyday lineup. Really?

The funny thing about their "method" is that they simply took the pre-season WAR totals for their players and subtracted what they've done so far, so underachieving players like Keuchel get a big boost b/c he needs 1.6 WAR to get to his presason projection of 3.8

And then they just went pie in the sky projections for Bregman and Gorriel

I love listening to their broadcast crew while they play us. Their announcers are so butt hurt, you could probably be fucking wasted at the end of the night if you took a shot for every time they made an excuse while losing to us.

" everything finds a hole"
" it's gotta balance out sometime?"
" they don't play this well against teams worse than us"

Well Gallo hasn't shown much this time up so I believe his value may have declined.

He played 4 games (and 1 PH appearance)... lets not place a value on that.

Yes but you can place a value on the quality of his ABs, not the results, he looked about as clueless as to what a ML AB looked like as a kid straight out of A ball might look

He could've gone 0-20 and I can attribute that to bad luck if he's having good ABs still, this was not the case, he looked like shit and has for a while when facing ML pitching going back to last year, he's very much regressed

I can also look at his .246 average versus AAA pitching, really AAA? that's also problem, he's not even dominating AAA pitching

What Joey Gallo needs to understand is that being able to hit tape measure shots isn't going to get him anywhere if he can't even make contact with ML fastballs right down the middle of the plate and lay off garbage out of the zone

He doesn't even hit mistakes about half the time, if he can work on making better contact then the power is there naturally, he doesn't have to swing for 500 feet everytime, a 400 foot HR works just the same and those will come in bunches once he learns to actually put the bat on the ball

It was his 2nd time up. He looked terrible and that's why he is still a Ranger. At best he has not advanced to ML level. I guess he hasn't declined since he hasn't gotten there yet.
