You guys think the Brewers getting Brinson reflects a decline in Gallo's value or just a shrewd wheeling and dealing by JD so he could hang onto him?
I don't think his value has dropped in the eyes of the people that matter when it come to doing the evaluating. A few bad big league at bats are not a big deal in their eyes.

I don't think Beltre gets moved from clean up.

Don't critique mine, post your own

I took some educated guesses, just a fun exercise but it doesn't work if people just tear apart each other's guesses, b/c no one knows (at the time) how they're going to roll out all the pieces

I wonder what the lineup will look like when playing in a NL park. A few of those NL park games might be very important in October.

How do you think it compares to our 2011 lineup that we were discussing just a couple of days ago?

At least this present one doesn't have Michael Young hitting cleanup. lol

Why does it matter? that's 2011 and this is 2016

Well Gallo hasn't shown much this time up so I believe his value may have declined.

Yeah, could be. I'm not sure I would hold his 15 mlb ABs against him as much. His OPS is up 200 points from last season at RR with more 17 games under his belt there. It also very well could have had more to do with the Brewers positional needs.

Lol. You can post all the stats you want to make yourselves feel better, but if you can't beat us you ain't gonna pass us. The Napoleon complex is hilarious.
They have Alex Bregman with the same WAR going forward as Ian Desmond. You can't make this stuff up.

Houston is such a miserable little blue collar toilet. If I lived there, I'd probably be bitter as hell too. They call us the Buffalo Bills for losing 2 World Series, yet they fail to mention that they lost the only 1 in which they played. But their made up WAR numbers say that their lineup is "significantly better". And they've even said that they will catch us based on those numbers and that, if by some miracle they don't, it's all because we're "lucky".

Loss of value on Gallo's part, a lot of us would've rather lost Gallo at this point than Brinson

Just another fun exercise kind of like yours with the lineup. Romeo and I had just discussed the greatness of the 2011 lineup a couple of days ago and I had mentioned at the time that we may never see one that good again. Then lo and behold this one suddenly becomes very close. It wasn't supposed to be a life changing question or anything. Just some fun comparison.

No need to be sensitive. I merely made a comment on your post. I didn't tear anything down.

I just find comparing to the past a useless exercise, I'd prefer to move forward not dwell

It wasn't being sensitive.... I just don't see the point in pointing one thing when you fail to take the leap yourself

I think I'm one of those people but I also think Gallo still retains most if not all the value he ever had. I think I favored Brinson because he is also a skilled defender.

Then I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, but his failure to put together ML ABs to me would scare me away
