why doesn't leslie smiff play 40 minutes??

I'm guessing it's a combination of things.

Big guys are usually underconditoned......and as a player myself who used to play the entire game, it is seriously brutal in this sport. I'm also assuming it has to do with changing up personnel. At points Miles likes to go undersized to matchup with speed and what not .....like he did against Ohio State late in the game when it worked out nicely

One thing I like is that you see losing these games is just killing these guys. A lot of times kids will jist walk off the floor but Petteway is seriously hurt after these losses as is Biggs and Shavon.

They wanna win, and the fact that they're all back next year with a collective chip on their shoulder......it bodes real well for the Huskers.

I really think we're gonna see these guys start playing well in the 2nd half of B1G play.......

Whether it's too little too late we'll see. But I think we are gonna see a hint of what's to come next season. We also have the B1G Tourney coming at the end of the year which we could manage to make a little noise in.

I've come to the conclusion that I expected too much from this team. Miles is still more about development than winning right now. If winning was all he cared about this season, Pitchford would play about 5 mins a game, maybe, if there is garbage time. He is certainly not ready to be a 4 or 5 (or 1,2 or 3) in a major conference. The thing is though, I've seen no development to his inside game. He stands around the perimeter and looks to hoist up 3s. He's taken 122 shots this year and 61 have been from 3 (only Gallegos has a higher ratio). And on the defensive end he's a disaster. 6'10 with a 35" verticle and he has 6 blocks in 18 games. He just does not have mentality to play in the post.

Yea Pitchford has been the biggest disappointment so far.

He doesn't really hoist up threes though......he pretty much just launches rockets at the hoop and hopes they somehow get in there.

Not a natural shooter whatsoever.

I'd rather just continue to see Shavon and Terran keep taking the ball to the hoop.

Teams that rely on the 3-ball usually win about 1 out of every 4 games.......and when you're playing in the premier Conference in the country that is the Big 10 it makes it even that much more difficult.

Now that Shavon is healthy we have a chance to beat anyone in the Conference. Just keep attacking the rim.

The team doesn't know how to deal the knock out blow yet. They're in positions to do so, but they loose focus.
The two turnovers in the last 30 seconds (?) when they were up by two was losing focus.They lost focus late against Michigan too.

They'll be there next season imo.

Sir, Creighton doesn't even come close to relying on the 3-ball.

They are so well-rounded and have such an effective inside game that their outside game benefits from it. Without McDerm they would be extremely handicapped. He is the reason they have wide open 3's all the time, cuz teams are doubling down on him any time he gets the ball in the paint and leaving someone open outside.
