I hate to sound negative about our receivers, but what good are they if our starting QB is only a 52% passer?

I believe more importantly would be his ability to avoid mistakes and turnovers. A 52% completion rate wouldn't be too bad in that situation.

so playing football this weekend ran into a lot of miami fans....
they think they are gonna come and destroy us in Lincoln. yeah they have talent and speed but let's be honest miami isn't scaring acc teams.

idk It's upsetting the lack of respect Nebraska gets its frustrating.

You've gotta admit, that is the very type of game Bo would lose. The unexplainable "They didn't execute" type of game.

I think a lot of it is confidence and I think he will be far more confident this year. When you think back to Taylor, he was confident from day 1.......and he never really improved......just mind of peaked and then stayed there.
i dont' know how you can say that.
2010: 1631 passing yards, 59% completion, 10 passing TDs, 7 INTs; 965 rushing, 12TDs
2011: 2089 passing yards, 56% completion, 13 passing TDs, 8 INTs; 874 rushing, 9TDs
2012: 2871 passing yards, 62% completion, 23 passing TDs, 12 INTs; 1019 rushing, 10TDs

he made a big leap in 2012 imo. I was really excited to see Taylor in the 2013 season, he looked good the first couple of games and then got that injury which killed our offense. I like to think that if he's healthy for 2013, we probably don't lose to Iowa or Minnesota.

that mizzou and tamu injury doomed tmart. before that he was nasty. but even he admitted he was never fully healthy to 2013 season right before the footgate

While Crouch did win the Heisman, the early 2000s were no bonus for Husker passing. There are a lot of similarities as to how Crouch started out as a passer and Armstrong. It just makes me real nervous.

tommy isn't gonna be a passer like ganz and Zac Taylor. but with the right scheme he can be effective.

nick Marshall from auburn isn't a great passer but with scheme they run he doesn't have to make hard reads and has easy decision.

I disagree Tommy is a great passer. One of the best we have had in a long time

We aren't losing that game. We just aren't.

This is sarcasm right? I feel stupid even asking, but I rarely post anymore so I'm rusty lol. I personally have very little faith in TA. He was battling for snaps with Kellogg for crying out loud. He isn't a threat to run, or pass IMO. He makes a clean pitch, I'll give him that, whoopdeedoo. He better make leaps and bounds otherwise I hope Johnny is under center.

I think part of the problem was that he was battling Kellogg. Kellogg was the type of player that Bo seems to like...knows the system inside and out. Armstrong was thrown right into the fire with little experience. He needs work reading defenses and it sounds like he's putting in the effort in the offseason to get the mental side of the position down. Physically, he has it. The kid can sling it. He just needs to make sure there's not a defender between himself and the receiver. I am hopeful that we will see a big difference this year. He knows he's the guy. I think he can do it.

I hope your right oak. I'll admit the kid has a cannon, but also the accuracy of a cannon. You might be right about Kellogg also, and if that is the case, and TA doesn't improve, I hope Bo is smart enough to put someone on the field that can actually challenge the defense on their own, regardless of their knowledge of playbook or experience.

yea, i agree with oak on RK3. Bo just liked him and he knew the system. it just seemed to me RK3 was mostly used as a change of pace. let TA get some looks from the sideline and some coaching from Ganz. It seemed like Bo stuck with TA more than RK3. looking at the Mich St game and the Bowl game.

if you take out the Penn State and Iowa games where TA didn't play due to injury, he threw roughly 70 more passes and ran the ball 60 more times than RK3.
