TA should have drilled Bill in his sack for the phoney call last night
TA should have drilled Bill in his sack for the phoney call last night
Just checked the boxscore (I had to be a grownup last night, attending an early bday dinner for my dad, missed the fucking game)......did y'all run the option up our asses all night?
Ran it straight at UCLA with a lot of I-formation and a bit of Zone Read Option sprinkled in.
Our run defense was fairly weak all season.....Riley had the right game plan to win the game.
I guess you read that incorrect as our DL barely even got close enough to say something to Rosen all game, after the ball was thrown obviously
I know this, but at the end of the game when they did get some pressure, and all they had to do was force him out of the pocket a little bit and disrupt his ability to pass accurately. There was not a damn thing wrong with me hoping for some of that pressure to be applied. I not only knew Nebraska would win if the offensive gameplan was contoured to run most of the time on UCLA, and limit TA to 20 or less passes, {he had 19 passes} but I knew UCLA would move the ball some on Nebraska like everyone else should have known, mainly because they are a good offensive football team. I based my prediction of Nebraska winning 34-28 on all of those factors, which of course was based on the hope that Riley and DL would get their heads out of their asses for that game, which they did and very reluctantly shunned the number of passes thrown, for a victory instead.

The problem for us fans, is that Purdue had a BAD rush defense, yet Danny Langsdorf and Mike Riley, were reluctant to run, so they called 48 passing plays with a QB that it was his first start. So, he threw four interceptions.
This time, they stuck with the run. Before, if a RB ran it for two yards, Langsdorf would go into panic mode and start throwing.
100% of us Husker fans on this board screamed run the ball, but Langsdorf and Riley had other ideas.
Once again, now the coaches have us confused. Will Nebraska be a power running team or a passing team? Quite a few of the offensive linemen are seniors. The recruits seem to show it will be a passing team. But who will do the blocking in the O line?

Remember Terry Wilson (QB) de-committed because of the offense he saw Riley installing.
Wilson knew his strengths would give him a better opportunity to see the field at Oregon.
I think we sent him packing after he threw infinity picks to open his season..
Yeah. We've heard the rationalizations a thousand times when someone de-commits.
"We really didn't want him anyway"
"He wasn't very good anyway"
"This other recruit is better anyway"
"He was plan B anyway"
Did I miss any?
I'm not sure there is a better "ex or current PAC coach" w/ a better record against Mora than Riley. Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Congratz to the faithful Husker fans and their team for last nightz play. You guys simply ran the rwak down the baby Bruins throats all night long. Good stuff.
I know that happens a lot, but I really think it might be true with Terry, he had an awful season.
@johnson I'm still waiting for your take on UCLA's defense getting their manhood taken away from them.
Great win for Nebraska. Easily the highlight of their otherwise sad season. It's quite possible UCLA wasn't prepared and overlooked them. Nebraska is bad, but they are not so bad you can just walk in and win without doing the requisite prep work.
PAC 12 fans should be humiliated by this. We are a superior conference that has done work in every bowl game but this one. UCLA should be ashamed of itself, but every year it seems one PAC team doesn't follow the lead of the others and loses to some turd.
