Michigan's hopes were dashed, they sure looked like they were having a lot of fun in that 3OT victory.

This season is far from over. Still a lot of pride to play for. No one's gonna lay down.

If they do quit, it's gonna make Eichorst's decision at the end of the year a lot easier.

no division title
no indy trip
3-4 option on big ten bowl list
best look 10-3 reality 9-4
wasted year with a soft schedule

sure player will play because it's football but most goals are gone and soon the staff will be in question too.

All five turnovers against Michigan State were by a redshirt freshman or a true freshman.

2013 was supposed to be the year the defense got experience and the offense carried the defense with a good offensive line, an all american at guard, and a pretty good game manager when healthy. Oops.

Not only does the defense have their training wheels off, but the offense just got them removed also.

2015 this team could compete for the playoff if Randy Gregory stays, I don't think any other defender will leave early, and the offense is able to get its act together.

I am taking Nebraska and the points. Nebraska wins outright anyway.

That would be great. They could take the statue outside the athletic complex, put a sweater vest on Osborne and a tattoo on Barringer to welcome him to Lincoln. Kind of make him feel at home.

I'm going to add one caveat here not for the sake of argument. The vest could give us a stronger inroad to recruiting in Ohio but the key word is "could". But did he ever have to recruit 2-3 * recruits when he was their HC and have to "teach" many of thsoe kids?

Even if his recruiting is on the same level as Pelini's, we would see a much better product on the field of play.

Exorbitant--I respect your insight. But the best of Ohio recruits go/stay in Ohio---OSU isn't the only school in the state. Tressel would have no better luck with Ohio recruits than we do now with Texas. Ohio States recruiting class last year had 16 4 star recruits. You don't need to coach technique that much to players on that talent level. Don't know if Tressel has ever had to teach 2-3 star recruiting classes @ OSU.

For me? And here I'm not advocating this guy BUT Gary Pattersen of TCU gets about the same level/quality of recruiting classes and except for this year's record has proven he can coach his kids up to a differnt level.

Having said all that, I'm not so ceertain that the B1G would let Tressel back into the conference yet if at all.

You make some valid points here, but even if Tressel couldn't coach the 2 and 3 star players up better than Pelini does, his better organizing skills and his ability to select good assistant coaches, would give us a much better product, performance wise on the field of play. I believe As far as the conference not allowing him back in, they should want a better team to make their conference stronger with Tressel here.

Not that you care, but I gave your well thought out post a thumbs up. I guess if push comes to shove, I don't want a "tainted" coach here. He may have learned his lesson, then again maybe not?

Thanks for the thumbs up! I would give you one too, but I gave one to corn train and this weird board turned it into a thumbs down! How screwed up is that?!

I certainly have given some thought about Tressel's "tainted" history. To me, what he did didn't resemble anything like recruiting infractions to get an advantage over other schools. Of course, if there was another solid coach available who had close to Tressel's record, and who also was younger, I would lean towards them.
