Poor Nebraska. You only got a pity vote because your coach was retiring, not because you were the best team.

The only pity doled out was toward Michigan. The AP pitied you since you were nearly 50 years without a natty.

Nebraska doesn’t win a title if he doesn’t retire that year. Facts.

Not fact. I don't think you know what "facts" are as you used it incorrectly.

You wanna know an actual fact? Michigan was one year away from not sniffing a natty for 50 straight years. That is a fact. Hence it is understandable that a program that falsely claims 'blue blood' status received pity from sports writers to keep them relevant. Whereas Nebraska received the vote from coaches... the ones that ACTUALLY know the game of football.

You're right. In 2012 we did NOT share the division title. We won it OUTRIGHT.

But you are wrong in that you share a division title. You may have had the same conference record, but Ohio State beat EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN THEIR DIVISION. They lost to Purdue from the other division. Hence Ohio St WINNING the division. So again, this is "division title" we are talking about. Ohio St went undefeated in the division. Michigan did not.

There is no such thing as 'co-division champ'. Sorry if that bursts your bubble.

@MAIZEandBLUE09, speaking of facts. I wanted to make sure that you saw this one.

This is also a fact.

Nah. Nebraska shouldn't have even been in the conversation, especially given the miracle it required for them to be undefeated, and the coaches felt obligated to jump Nebraska over Michigan in the final poll because your coach was retiring. It was a gift Nebraska didn't deserve.

Speaking of which, how's UoM's basketball team looking this year?

I’m just waiting some NCAA violations on our basketball team. What can go wrong when your HC has not one, but two sons playing AAU with all the kids he is recruiting.

Basketball can go one of two ways:
1. Howard is able to sign many of these elite kids he has coached or has played with/against his kids

2. UM is slapped with major violations again, because Howard has no idea what he is or isn’t allowed to do recruiting. The guy already committed a violation during his introductory news conference

He didn't. The kid had already signed papers but at the time this wasn't known. So it was thought to be one but later turned out it wasn't. We just didn't have the information to say it wasn't.

You say that, but both divisions have had 3 representatives since the inception of West/East. All time, it would be 3 from the now East and 4 from the now West. Seems like the West division is just as open, but yet Michigan never seems to make it, weird.

Since joining, I also seem to remember Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Wisconsin beating you. Hell, even RUTGERS beat you. Lumping you in with the likes of Illinois, Maryland, and Indiana.

Just so you know, Rutgers is 7-36 in conference play since joining the B1G... you are one of those 7.

Now THAT is Sad.

I remember being at the Michigan/Nebraska game last year. It was 39-0 at the half. Martinez threw for 22 yards and ran for -12 for the game. And prior to UM bringing band members out of the crowd to play on the last drive in the 4th quarter — UM had outgained Nebraska 490 to 52!

THAT is sad.

No it literally is, just like the 97 Title belongs to Nebraska (alone) regardless of what you people in michigan think...

One school had players who begged and pleaded for votes (Scott Frost) and even had their coach go as far as to announce he was retiring before the end of the season to garner sympathy votes.

Speaking of 97. Good thing UM started pulling starters in the 2nd quarter last year or UM may have scored 97 on Nebraska. I truly felt bad for the Nebraska fans who made the trek to the Big House, as the entire section had left the building midway thru the 2nd quarter when it was 39-0.

LOL how retarded are you? The last time Michigan won anything of any importance is your fake claim at a National title. Nebraska has played for one more recently and everyone in the world knows 1997 belongs to Nebraska alone. Your hypocrisy is ridiculous.

Michigan has literally won nothing important, not even a division title. Shares of titles may have counted in the B1G prior to Nebraska, but like Michigan everything, that is a thing of the past.

Is a Nebraska fan talking about another school being a thing of the past?!? Uhhhhh, hello?!? Time to look in the mirror for you guys. The only relevant sports program in Nebraska is your women’s volleyball team.

Nebraska is 3-2 against Michigan this century.

The two times Michigan beat Nebraska...

1) 2011....Nebraska's first season in the Big 10 when they were making defensive adjustments from Big 12 offenses to Big 10 offenses.

2) 2018........Nebraska first year head coach with new schemes on both sides of the ball.

Nebraska won in 2012 and 2013.

The irony of it is quite funny. A team who hasn't done anything in even longer is making fun of a team with more recent success - huh? Last time I checked, their savior didn't make a bowl game last year and lost to Troy...

39-0 at the half. Michigan starters played half the game and we still almost put up 500 yards of offense and the starters only played til the 2nd quarter, while Nebraska had 52 yards.

UM could have scored 97 if they didn’t start putting in team managers and band members to make it fair.

Also congrats on beating UM in 2012 and 2013 — it is the crowning moment, I’m sure for the Nebraska program in the past 20 years. Here is the problem — you have to share that honor with roughly 13 other teams who Michigan most to in 2012 and 2013.
Hell — up until Harbaugh arrived, for the better part of a decade, I don’t think we were a .500 team, so bragging about beating UM during that time isn’t impressive. But when you don’t have much to write about — that is what you do I suppose.

Good for Michigan.

That does not take away from my point (#2) that Nebraska had a completely new coaching staff and new schemes on both sides of the ball.

In 4 years at the helm, Harbaugh has yet to achieve Bo Pelini status.

LOL

Does that same logic not apply to 2018 Nebraska that you just boasted about in the previous post?

Pelinin won 5 more games than Frost in his first year after taking over a 5 win program.
