That surprises me.

Phil Steele nailed the AP top 25 last season 100% and he had us projected to be #33 in the preseason AP this year.

Of course, what really happens is the media folk wait to see what the Coaches Poll looks like and then derive their thinking off of that.

Or Nebraska gets a Top 25 preseason nod just because they are 'Nebraska'.

I just always get a kick out of how close the 2 polls end up being to each other.

It is so obvious that one poll has an influence on another poll.

The top 2 or 3 teams should be the same but after that it's a damn crapshoot. Teams 15-30 or so could pretty much be interchangeable preseason, but somehow the coaches and the media agree on where they're at.
