i just hope if they ever do a reboot for that, it is not like the fresh prince reboot, where it becomes a drama instead of a comedy...

i mean, damn family matters would become so dark... Black family, in chicago, where the head of house is a cop... a black cop... even the house would be shown in a more realistic way... with much less colour...
Oh yeah

Idk how you do Urkel as a drama

It has to stay a sitcom

Assuming they do a drama reboot (my understanding is that this not in discussion anywhere, so we are just BSing here)…

They could make Urkel an autistic kid living next door who always comes over. Have the local “bad element” pick on him where Carl needs to intervene. basically, he becomes an identity “education” character rather than a comedic idiot.

But yes, this is a horrible idea. This shouldn’t be made into a drama, and the comedy style doesn’t work in todays “TV”.

Has anyone watched the Origins show yet? I gave Hawaii about 2 episodes before I bailed, and never even saw a segment of Sydney. NOLA was bad, but I muscled through it. LA had it’s moments, but it was WAY to “cute” for my general tastes. I will not bother with Origins unless it gets REALLY good word of mouth.

T&Z looks horrendous, and I have no plans to watch it.

I watched the first episode of "Origins," and it was pretty good, but not great. I will give it some time to see how it develops.

I liked the first two seasons of "Hawaii," but it really went to pot in its last season. "New Orleans" was my favorite until they killed off Chris & spent an entire season looking for him & his killer (I only watched a handful of shows that season). The final season was much improved, so I was sorry to see it leave.

"Los Angeles" started strong, but lost a lot of character after Hettie stopped showing up on a regular basis; and they reused the same damn plots so many times that it got boring & unwatchable - especially after the 'wonder twins' left the show.

The original "NCIS" series is lacking in strong personalities since the departures of Gibbs, Jack, & Ellie. They could use an infusion of new blood (or a return of some old faces). "Sydney" is probably the best of the whole lot right now. Interesting characters, interesting plots, the chance to explore new locales.

I have seen no recent promo material on "Tony & Ziva," so I wonder if it is still in development?

Sydney looked horrendous so that’s surprising

I like ncis but I can see what you mean

I think Parker is a nice change rather than trying to recreate Gibbs

LA had good characters, and decent actors. But the banter and cuteness just got too overbearing at times.

It’s a unique taste

so do i since year 1,but i,m not a big gary cole fan.

I’m not his biggest fan, but he’s made this work for me.

I’m surprised

Of course it might be because his character likes baseball and delicious pastries lol

He isn’t Gibbs, so he is a hard downgrade. But for a show reboot, they have done it rather well, imho.

I’m happy they went away from that.

You were never going to reasonably recreate Gibbs so don’t bother trying

Gibbs is one of the greatest TV characters of all time. Don’t give us a bad zerrox. Give us something new. But for god’s sake, avoid “cute”.

I think Cole’s character is a little more realistic

He’s more normal and humanized

Not in the field he’s a normal guy with normal interests

In the field he’s as intense as any other agent

It’s hard to create iconic characters like Gibbs and they may create another one when they replace cole. But at least he’s a solid palate cleanser imo
