Not in those numbers, no.

If the playoff implications where the same I agree. In this case, I do not. I saw many empty seats when that Redskins game started last night. Not the sign of a fan-base that cares.

If you are the NFL and you can get the Giants, Packers, Steelers or Cowboys in prime time against a division opponent, it's a no brainer. Sorry but no key cares about Arizona or San Diego.

I do

It was still a sellout, and it was like 5 degrees.

Look at historical ratings for different teams. I am a perfect example. I am a football can but just a casual NFL fan. I will tune into my team and if not it has to be like Steelers-Ravens, Pats-Colts, Bears-Pack or a game like that or I have better shit to do.

The NFC east has four big fanbases in powerful cities with historical relevance and hate. People tune in. They don't tune in to see the Cards or Chargers.

Outdraw in what capacity? You think people in those markets aren't going to tune in if it was the other teams discussed?

:agree: You think Dallas fans are not want to see this game? I would think they would be interested in watching. Same for 49ers fans and Seahawks fans. Just to mention a few.

Well. I think you are in the minority only because most fans don't care about a game between two 3-7 teams. Again if the records are the same, I agree.

You are 100% correct. All those other markets will tune in because it effects their team a lot more than two teams who have nothing to play for regardless of the division.

You might want to stop digging, because you are sounding more and more like an idiot with every post.

With over 3 million people in Philly and Phoenix, I can assure you, plenty of people care.

Most of their cities don't even care.

But that's not even relevant. What is is that the games aren't being shown for a reason. Because even the shitty of the shitty teams outdraw your shitty team. You can whine and rationalize all you want, but they're not going to leave money on the table. The reason they're not showing your team is that no one wants to see them.

I won't watch much of the game. Will tune in every now and then due to my office pool and if it's close in the 4th I'll watch the entire 4th.

The old argument about TV ratings and markets is one I just don't buy into. It's been used for people wanting certain match-ups for years in Super Bowls and continues to be meaningless. The NFL draws big ratings regardless of which teams are involved based on markets. Most of the people who tune into primetime games are fans of football. The "fairweather" fans or casual ones don't effect ratings as much as people seem to think. The game is about the star power of certain players and about successful winning teams. Now having said that, Eli and RG III are stars, (at least for now) but their teams are not good, to say the least. They could get very similar ratings with a lot of other match-ups, imo.

NFL fans will watch regardless. NFL fans only push the needle so far though and they sort of cancel each other out. It is picking up the casual football fans that impacts the number. Some big time matchups can grab that, sure. Some teams with national appeal can do the same. However if we assume that the rate of casual fans is the same nstionally, a NY team will draw the most. If you add in a division rivalry game and a young charismatic star having a bad year and under a lot if scrutiny, you capture those extra eyes. You don't get that with Phillip Rivers, Andy Dalton or even Larry Fitz. I really like the a serials and watch them, the average dude in Queens won't care though.

That doesn't make them redskins fans.

RG3 is by far the best of the young crop, so clearly he will get some supporters.

Not the best, let alone "by far". A great young talent, for sure but that proclamation is hyperbole. Luck and Newton are better, imo and RG3 is in the group after that. I will cut him some slack because the team around him isn't very good but he hasn't played up to the hype this year either and better get it together soon.

Ha ha, I am a fan and RG3 isn't the best of anything yet. That being said, the last two seasons he ha had to play with a team with a 20% smaller salary cap and that has affected his line and receivers. Next year the Skins have close to 40 million to spend. Lets hope they do it right and put some guys around him. He has a lot if talent and works very hard but he has a ways to go.

Newton can't throw.

Griffin is more accurate and has a wider arsenal of throws than luck.

Shanahan is worse for griffin than if they were only allowed to sign players at the veteran minimum for every roster spot. The talent around him isn't great but shanahan has done everything in his power to ruin RG3.

No need to whine or rationalize. I simply disagree. When they had to make the decision to flex the game, the Giants and Skins both had a real chance to win the division. Their not going to flex a game if the two teams are still alive. That's why they are not showing it. I assure you if the same situation was next week, the game would be flexed.
