On this slow day I'd like to point out a few things about Jerry West...

1) He averaged 31.3, 31.0 and 31.2 respectively, on .497%, .473% and .497%... Also a 30.8 on .445% year... One can only wonder how many points he would average if there was a 3pt line when he played...

2) The first year the All-Defensive team was selected was the (68-69), where a 30 year old West made the 2nd team... His next and final 4 seasons he was selected 1st team All-D... One can only wonder how many times he would have made it if the team was around his rookie season (60-61), or if he would have been DPOY if it were selected prior to 82-83season...

3) The 65-66 season Jerry West averaged 31.3ppg 7.1rpg 6.1apg on .473% shooting from the PG position... Lebron James best statistical season (05-06) 31.4ppg 7rpg 6.6apg .480% shooting... One can only wonder if there was no hand checking back then and all the "flagrant foul" calls that protect guys like Lebron and a 3pt line what that stat line of West's would look like...

I find that West is always underdrafted in these. But the old farts throwing shade at Curry for the lack of hand checking sound like fools. (Not you WLK lol)

If Gobert ever becomes a statue he would be Mark Eaton. Unfortunately he is stuck with all of that lateral and vertical mobility.

Let me know when Gobert averages 4.1blks a game for a year... Or 4.3... Or 4.6... Or 5.6... Rudy Gobert 3 years in... 0.9, 2.3 and 2.2... Mark Eaton first 3 years... 3.4, 4.3, 5.6... 10 year career average 3.5... Gobert 3 year career average, 1.9... I think Gobert has some work to do before you start acting like the 2x DPOY is a scrub...

3 second violation was in place when Eaton played... It was "illegal defense", he had to be arms length just like now... Not sure where you're going with that...

I'm not worried about Eaton blocking shots against me....as soon as we get the ball, Curry will have gone down and hit a 3, stole the inbound pass and kicked it to KD for another 3 before Eaton makes it to half court

Curry will have Glove or West to worry about... KD has Majerle and Bell following him around and Kemp can get back... I also have Joe Barry Carroll for a more agile Center, Sabonis can play and if need be Detlef can play Center... Curry holding West or Glove is the question...

Maybe in 1990, but in 2016, even the Glove can't check Curry without a hand check...though he can come as close as anyone. Thunder Dan is 6'' shorter and Bell is 8'' shorter than KD, good luck with that....

Hahaha so basically you're stance is defense is no longer a part of the game...? Glove and West can guard Curry no matter what year it is... Curry is amazing but staying in front of people and making shots tough is going to bring down shooting % and if you have a guy that averages 3.5 blocks for 10 years that is going to deter and/or cause less layups, which means my guards can push and not worry about getting beat... Same applies to KD, he's going to make shots, All-D players are going to be in his shit making those shots contested... If he makes it he makes it, but they will be contested.. Speaking of defense, Curry gets owned in the post by Glove or has to hold West... Neither of which he can do... Defensive schemes are much more advanced as well so again I can sit Eaton if he's not giving me what I need (which is preposterous) and can chose 1 of 3 other guys who can play Center...
