I hope THT gets a major increase in his role next season if we lose a FA or 2.

Seems like HOU helped out Brooklyn (Harden trade), Miami (Oladipo), and Milwaukee (Tucker).

6 seed IMO. They got better but not into top 5 realm.
Apparently they will have a lot of cap room for next season as well. So, the final roster is TBD. As a bulls fan that gave up on Garland a long time ago, the new guy is getting me interested in the team again.

Not many elite FA's in the offseason.

Vucevic was a nice get for the Bulls.

He unlocks Lavine even more. His distance shooting gives the Bulls spacing Wendell Carter could never give them, plus you get more options on pick and roll. Not a great rim protector but is adequate bodying up most 5s in the league.

It could be argued that the Bulls were the big winner.

Maybe. Vucevic is a nice player but I'm not sure I would say he will ever be an All-NBA type player. He's 30 years old and in his prime and should help the team. But it's not like they gave up peanuts.

Agreed. He improves the Bulls but ultimately he moves them from and 8-9 seed to a 6-7 most likely.

Similar to the Knicks, they’ve been down for awhile so I would imagine yesterday and this season have been exciting to them. I remember how great it felt for the first season of Ben and Jo on the floor. They were flawed and they had holes but damn it was fun to have a compelling follow again in the NBA.

Right.

It makes them better for sure.

But what is next?

Outside of signing a legit superstar in free agency I don’t think there is another realistic option for this team to become a contender.

I do like some of their pieces though.

My guess is they traded two top 20 picks to make sure lavine resigns with them.

the slow build wasn’t going to help them keep him.

Yes it is. He could not sign back with the Heat.
This a new rule (well not that new, I guess)? Cavs traded Z and after a period of time allowed to bring him back. But that was a while ago.

I think they have about $25 million in cap space for this summer. Not enough to get a max player but they really just need a complimentary player to go alongside Vucevic and LaVine.

Seems like they got themselves into the dreaded mid seed tier where their best case scenario is winning a 1st round series

Really need to achieve what? Win a 1st round series and get bounced? They aren't a Gordon Hayward away from being title contenders.

Agreed. But how many real contenders are there every year? 4? 5? You have to walk before you can run.
