Dustin May is pitching for the Dodgers for the first time in almost 2 years.

Along with a couple of surgeries for baseball injuries, he also had to have an emergency surgery that if he hadn't gotten it, he wouldn't have lived through the night.

About damn time. lol

Not sure if folks here are aware of the story...he had Tommy John surgery back in 2023, then he ended up having to have a second Tommy John surgery because apparently something happened with the first one.

He was about a week from coming back last year and was expected to be on the playoff roster...he and his wife went to dinner, he took a bite of his salad and when he swallowed he felt a lot of pain in his throat and stomach. He took a big sip of water...finished dinner and when he got home he still wasn't feeling right. He was just going to bed figuring whatever it was would clear up overnight.

His wife insisted that he get checked out and it turned out he had an esophageal tear and wouldn't have survived the night without the surgery.

Seeing several mocks where the Browns trade back into the first after taking Carter and grabbing Shadeur. I don't see that happening but weird its on so many.

My choice would be Hunter orCarter at this point and Dart or Milroe in the 2nd. Given it is the Browns Dart has the higher floor though.

And take best RB available in the 3rd. Would love it to be one of the OSU guys, but unlikely.

RIP Val Kilmer, such a great actor.

RIP

Can't count how many times I watched Real Genius and Top Secret growing up. Underrated comedies. Amazing in the Doors movie, Heat, Tombstone, The Saint, etc. Heartbreaking role in Top Gun Maverick.

The Saint was when I really took note of his versatility. That was a very underrated movie in my opinion. Plus the beauty of Elizabeth Shue, win win.

Tombstone is one of those movies that if I'm channel surfing and come across it, I have to stop and watch at least part of it. Largely because of his portrayal of Doc Holliday.

Off topic on the health and wellness side, I keep seeing all these damn near cult like people on FB touting this carnivore diet. I find myself arguing with them because it's literally the most illogical diet I've ever heard of.

You can sell me on paleo (which is very restrictive) but no fucking way eating butter and ribeyes for your meals is ultimately going to lead you down a good path.

Yeah, it is absolutely stupid

Truth is that eating natural meats is a much better choice than processed foods most Americans binge on.

But there is no substitute for a healthy balanced diet. Eat a variety of fruits and veggies, healthy proteins, whole grains and limit sugar.

The carnivore diet start well, but are exaggerated. Good fats and protein are great ways to feed your body control your blood sugar, but excess saturated fats still need to be monitored. If it's not all red meat, much better.

Personally, I just try limit my carbs as much as possible. Since I have never been much of a vegetable guy, that leans me towards carnivore.

The fix is in. Goodell isn’t even supposed to play this role with the competition committee.

For sure going meat heavy with lean meats is a lot better than lunch meat, hot dogs, Nuggets etc but the whole notion of eating 100 plus grams of saturated fat a day is insane. And it is often heavier folks touting this diet, well no shit you lost weight you ate less, just wait until you get to a reasonable weight and you cant work out because you take in no carbs.

I don't believe most anyone that claims they dont suffer a major energy defecit for a good month from starting out.

I go low carb where some days im under a 100. But i then have to load up on rice or a healthy snack to boost myself back up energy wise. There is no way I could ever go long under a 100 carbs day in and out.

I happen to enjoy veggies though so that helps.

I just can't past these retards with their 8 fried eggs and sticks of butter lol.

Did the "all meat" diet quite a few years ago.

Thought it was a good way to lose weight fairly quickly...but yeah...the lack of carbs created a noticeable drop in energy. My body adjusted and some, but not all energy came back...but not completely until I started mixing in carbs again.
