If boxing would get out of its own way it could be something again. when you are faced against UFC which is streamlined as hell....well...you're going to struggle.
I uused to love boxing back in the Hagler and Tyson days....

They need to merge with the MWC....

Yeah, they still have their P5 designation, so their conference champ would still go to the playoff...they could sell that to get the MWC to merge under the PAC banner.

I think they will...makes the most sense for both Conferences.

There was talk 20 years ago of ESPN trying to take it over, go back to one champion per weight class, etc. too many thug organizations already embedded though.

Ok yeah we on the same page lol. Spence went out of his way to make sure this fight took place which was great. Havent been a big fight like this with both in their prime in forever. Floyd vs Manny took place too late in Mannys career imo
Yup ridiculous that Mayweather was able to duck him all those years. Only a small part of what is wrong with what should be a great sport.

Damn team usa out
Yea that sucked. They actually played pretty well but couldn’t put it in the net. They missed having a real star, Morgan is not close to Lloyd. Horan and Smith are the best players on the team now. I thought they really missed players like Heath and Press. Both of them should have been on this team.

Leave Vlatko on the tarmac. He's had that team looking like shit all tournament. They were a post away from not even getting out of the group stage. They were marginally better this game, but still pretty crappy. The world has gotten better, as evident with teams like Brazil and Germany going out early too. But there's still enough talent on this team to not look as bad as we did. I actually didn't expect to win because of all the turn over and Swanson being out was a huge deal that didn't get talked about enough (she was like the only player we had consistently scoring goals before she got hurt back in the Spring), but this is a team that was still capable of getting to the semis. At the very least, they shouldn't have looked like dogshit all tournament. Carli Lloyd was right to rip them.

It's his fault two shooters put the ball over the crossbar in PKs?

No but it shouldn't have got to that point. They looked like dogshit the enite world cup. There was no reason for them to not win the group/get so damn close to not making it out the group stage.

I didn't watch much, but I wonder how invested the two retiring players were during this stretch?

PKs are a coin toss. No way it should have come to that with how much time USA was on the ball. They had possession of the ball for almost 60% of the match.

Flying the crossbar is such a bad miss though. No need to place the ball in the upper corner.
