yes. admittedly I might think differently if not for the dregs in the running (NO, Atl and Carolina). could not have been hard to convince him if he wants to win Cleveland is the best option. Carolina was also out of it at the time so, hell, it's possible they made the same effort or even others tried to match it after the Browns made their offer.
Oh wow. It’s the Saints that were the dregs? The Browns fan is referring to other organizations as the dregs?

at that time? Absolutely..... NO, atl and carolina were dregs compared to the Browns. Or at least as dreggy. The Browns were coming off an 8-9 season in the toughest division with among the most injuries in the sport.

Got it. The most successful franchise in that division since 2000 with a Super Bowl ring was the dregs because they hadn’t found a QB to replace their first ballot Hall of Fame QB. The perennial franchise universally analogous with failure though isn’t the dregs because in that one season they were just one game below .500

props to that man getting hit by enormous human beings
Obviously like with Webb and Bogues the idea is he's so small he can skitter around and not get hit. But yeah eventually he's gotta take the punishment.

Where are we now, page 12 of the argument over how Watson's contract happened?

Yup, and so far not a mention of how he really didn’t improve from his first to his last game after it all.

Yes...that year they were a dreg as they no longer had that Brees fellow, Gif Boy

No doubt the Browns were a dreg or even below dreg overall since the return, but were looking much better. If you have a reason to refute that other than irrelevant past performance by others please do. I mean THIS Browns regime has no more to do with previous failures than they do winning seasons under Paul Brown.

Not sure what page we’re on but we’re entering the portion of the program where it’s plausible that everybody offered the rare guaranteed contract to the man who sexually assaulted 2 dozen women.

That's another topic if you'd like to talk about it. If he plays like he did last year the Browns are in trouble....no matter what he is paid.

What position does Watson play again?
No doubt the Browns were a dreg or even below dreg overall since the return, but were looking much better.
Yep. Much better is a relative term. 8-9 is better than a 1-31 run.
If you have a reason to refute that other than irrelevant past performance by others please do.
It’s beneath me to even mount an argument to defend that which is evident to all sports fans. Death taxes Browns losing…

They just haven’t failed yet. But stay tuned sports fans.

@bksballer89 Browns fans are calling your team the dregs, bro.

He plays QB

Yes, 8-9 is much better than 1-31.

I think what you mean to say is you realize how foolish it is to lump one regime in with a regime or regimes they had nothing to do with.

Ok.

His team was a dreg at that time. Hell, by your logic they have always been a dreg considering how bad they were before Brees.

No, what I’m trying to say is that there is more utility seen in Sisyphus rolling that boulder than there is to waste any hope in the Browns ever not being the Browns.

Yep. Even the Ain’ts got their shit together before the Browns did. Carolina, Atlanta, New Orleans…all have been to that Super Bowl thing since 2010.

"everybody"? Not there yet, Gif Boy.
Are you saying that it’s not possible that every NFL team offered Watson a fully guaranteed contract? You can’t prove that. It’s plausible that they all did. Additionally, the Yankees and Dodgers have huge payrolls. It’s plausible that they also offered him a fully guaranteed contract.

At 26-24 last 3 years without a franchise QB nearly 90% of those games (and now we have one)....the Browns are not the Browns. at least not the ones you are thinking of.

The aints did get their shit together, but had just lost their shit when Brees left. Those SBs at time of Watson looking for a team meant the same as the browns 8 titles. Nothing.

sorry but you can prove it GIF Boy as only 4-5 teams even got to meet with him to make an offer.

Nice try, though....I applaud the effort as foolish as it was.

Didn’t they draft a QB number 1 overall? Was he hurt or something?

You mean the Hall of Fame QB they were looking to replace with Watson.

You can’t prove that. Let me see your evidence that he didn’t meet with the Yankees.

You also can’t prove that he didn’t meet with Chelsea or Man City.

THIS regime didn't draft anyone #1 overall. Not sure who called that guy a HOF QB...you are seriously reaching but keep going I guess. Glad to see you have the energy at least.
