You sure about that?

That they will be fine?

Depends on how you define that.

If “fine” means playing in the Super Bowl again, then no.

If it means making the playoffs and being one of the top teams in the AFC by January, then yes. Barring a Mahomes injury, I am sure.

Good luck with that!

Talent only takes a QB so far without high level decision making skills.

Jameis is doing well right now. But the reason he is doing well is because the Saints aren’t asking him to do too much.

Unfortunately I don’t think the wizard is out there to help him.

He's doing what is needed. Don't fk up a great defense. His decision making skills isn't the greatest but I'll take 2 of 3 games with 0 INT. Saints treating Jameis how i thought. Told people on here they were not going to have him pass 30+ times very frequently. The goal is to keep his attempts under 25 per game. Depend on the running game and defense to carry you

I disagree kind of. If they don't get their act together soon then they will have to settle for a WC spot. Lots of challenging home games on the schedule

When the Giants lost 2 starting offensive lineman right off the bat to injury... (already a weak-spot on our team)... that basically doomed yet another season.

Ugh. B-ball season can't get here fast enough.

I'm gonna go ahead and say it.

Derek Carr is playing MVP caliber ball.....long way to go but damn.....he is straight balling.

That's why I used qualifiers like "if". There's a good chance that at this point, Jameis is who he is and will have a Jeff George type career. But, this is also the first time he's had coaching at the level the Saints have. As usual with these guys, it will come down to how willing and able they are to learn.

Lots of football left and the AFC West is strong. They will beat each other up.

11-6 probably wins that division

He really is. Unfortunately, I don't think he can sustain it for 17 games. With Gruden, they seem to fade badly in the 2nd half of the season.

It is more than that man.

Some guys just don’t have the cognitive skills to excel at the QB position.

The “learning” in Jameis’ case is that he can help the team win if he stays in his lane and avoids mistakes.

It’s just a matter of time until Winston puts his cognitive skills on full display.

Funny you say that. Looked at the rest of schedule and said they'll probably end up at 11-6

If they keep his attempts under 25 as they've done in the first 3 games then he may be fine

The defense has been the reason for that the last 2 seasons.

It's better this season.

When the run game gets shut down......Winston will have to throw and defenses will be licking their chops.

Like vs the Panthers.

Yes.

But because they run the ball very well and have a strong defense than won’t happen often.

Raiders
Broncos
Rams
Cardinals
Panthers

are the only unbeaten teams in the League after 3 weeks.

What everybody predicted right?

You're probably right. Going back to his FSU days, he certainly hasn't shown much maturity or strong decision making skills. But, as I said, he's never had the level of coaching that he's getting now.

Dude's never going to be Peyton Manning or Tom Brady when it comes to decision making...but I think if he can at least learn the more basic components of decision making, like when to just take the sack or throw the ball away, it can cut way back on the turnovers. With the rest of what the Saints have, that may be enough.

I think most teams are going to plan to shut down the run and force Winston to throw the ball.

Stack 7-8 players in the box and go ahead, Jamies.

Did you watch that game? It sounds like you didn't. This blaming jameis whenever the saints lose is lame. That had more to do with the panthers defense. Most teams aren't successful with a poor performance from their oline. Did you not see what happened to the bears yesterday?
