You really don’t have it in you to give props to the Lakers, do you?

A lot of respect to Dragic and Bam and I hope they recover soon, but the Lakers had a 17 point lead at the half when both guys were still in the game.

How about saying the Lakers absolutely kicked their ass and the look like the best team in the league?

At what point to you give them any credit?

I'm not a Lakers fan so there is absolutely no need for me to go out of my way to give them credit after game 1 of a best of 7 playoffs series. I'm going to focus on my team and that's going to be that. If you want to hear how great the lakers are after every game then you should probably find a Lakers only forum to post on instead of an NBA general forum that we post on here. I wasn't crying anytime the Heat beat the Celtics in the ECF for @Gman @LogicMan or @Wamu to give the Heat credit. They handled it like fans in a series should. Focus on your team and how they can change the outcome in the next game THEN at the end of the series they gave the Heat credit. The Lakers are not 30 plus points better than Miami

Sorry to hear about Dragic, @bksballer89... that guy has been ballin' out this playoffs... when everyone is healthy, the Heat have been a perfectly calibrated machine this post-season, with Dragic provided a surprisingly consistent and surprisingly strong scoring punch... without Goran or with a hobbled Goran, it's gonna be tough to keep consistent scoring and fill in that offensive gap.

We'll see, though. I know there were some games against the Celtics where Dragic basically put the Heat on his back for significant stretches of time.

I also posted nothing last night to even remotely suggest Miami would have won if Dragic or Bam didn't get hurt so seriously quit your bitching

You are correct.

Lakers probably won’t shoot that well again. Heat are going to battle.

If Bam is out it is a wrap. Even without Dragic I think we will some close games. Whether Miami can finish a couple with wins is another question.

It's a small sample size. Miami had a 13-point lead before that, Lebron went to the bench, and your secondary players started hitting 3's.

This would be different if Bam and Goran got injured at the beginning of say game 4 where Miami was down 3-0.

Having said that, injuries are a part of the game. If this happened to Lebron, AD and Rondo (Lakers 3 best players, substitute Rondo for anybody else), you wouldn't get sympathy for me. Winning is winning.

If the Lakers keep shooting 40% from 3, it's over.
I expect their 3 point shooting to regress and for Miami to have at least one game where they shoot the 3 much better than the Lakers.

That being said, AD is just too good defensively and neutralizes Bam.
While Bam only played 21 minutes before leaving with injury, it's the 0 assists that stuck out to me.

Before the game, if you told me that Herro would lead the team in shots and be a -35, well, there's probably an adjustment to be made there......

Are the Lakers really this good or were the Celtics really that bad?

No. The Lakers are good, but they're not 11 three's in the first half good and the Celtics are a very good team. The Lakers caught fire and Heat were a little flat. Plus I think the Lakers size kind of caught the Heat off guard and they had a lot of trouble adjusting to it.

Spo will make adjustments and if Dragic, Bam and Butler can all play and aren't too limited, they'll make it a tough series.

Depends on the severity of the injuries to Dragic, Butler and Bam. It was Murphy's Law last night - what can go wrong did go wrong.

But I agree, the Lakers size the biggest difference in this series, just based off a game sample size.

the Heat ain't going down without a fight. that's just how this team's wired. I expect next game to be a close one, win or lose...

it's why I predicted this to be a 6 game series to begin with...

Yeah, the Lakers size is like the Rockets speed...you can't replicate it in practice, so you actually have to experience it before you can adjust to it.

Spo will come up with some schemes to deal better with the Lakers size. They'll probably use more zone and you'll probably see more of Olynyk. He's not a great player, but he's a big body that can bang a little and has some offense.

But as you said, how much the Heat can do will be determined by how severe those injuries are.

Also, I thought the Heat did a pretty good job of making the Lakers play half court offense, which should have slowed the Lakers down. Problem was, they started hitting 3's and Miami went cold for a stretch that seemed to last from when they built the 13 point lead all the way to the start of the 4th quarter.

I know the Lakers defense was a big part of that, but the Heat also missed quite a few open looks during that time as well.

Love that team. After the Lakers, they've been my favorite team to watch this year. They may not win the series, but they'll fire every bullet they've got, throw the gun at them and then challenge them to a fistfight. lol

I predicted 5 but if Dragic is limited this will probably be a sweep, it doesn't mean every game will be like Game 1 though. I expect the Heat to fight and the Lakers won't shoot like that every game, if they do, it would have been a sweep with everyone healthy. But that was the Heat's gameplan early...live or die with the Lakers role players. They were doubling Lebron and forcing others to hit shots...the thing is about this team and say different than the 18 Cavs... they have AD a dominant scorer in the post and who can hit jumpshots, even if the Lakers aren't shooting well they can throw into AD in the post. There is no way to double both Lebron and AD plus both are outstanding passers. Spo has a tough job either way

No way the Heat can win even a game IF the Lakers play like they played last night.
I’m not expecting them to be that efficient over the course of what I thought would be at least a 6 game series.
Obviously the injuries came at the absolute worst time, but it happens.
No way the Heat will ever give up, they simply might just be overmatched.

If Nunn can play like he did...there will be close games. But like you said if the Lakers role players continue to knock down shots (which was really the key for the Lakers) they were going to win regardless and probably a sweep. You just can't account for AD and Lebron and others hitting shots.

Expect the Heat to compete hard in game 2. The Lakers need to be ready.

Lol why the fuck must i go out of my way to give credit after game 1 of a series. This screaming for attention from you two is embarrassing. Like i said earlier if you want a board to hear how great the lakers are after game 1 of a series then find a Lakers only forum to post on

Its been years since Ive posted on here, but i still come to the boards and read everyones comments a few times a week.

last night was 1 game, doesnt matter if we lost by 1 pt or 40 pts. A loss is a loss. Spo will make the necessary adjustments for game 2. The Lakers are not invincible. They played a great game last night but they can have an off night like Miami had. If either LBJ or AD get hurt, this series takes a completely different shape to it. They have the best 1-2 players in the series, but Miami has the next best 4. Hopefully last nights ass whoopin wakes the Heat up.
