NBA draft mistakes 1.0: The Miami Heat in 2008

Thinking about making this a regular series and I'm starting with this one.....

The pick in 2008:

Michael Beasley.

Yes, I know he has a cult following on here but looking back it wasn't a great pick as he has been the definition of a career journeyman.

The right pick: Kevin Love.

Wade and Love would have worked seamlessly as both are team players and Love would have been a fantastic #2 option to Wade.....a big man that can rebound and shoot the 3.

But, if this were the pick the big 3 may never have happened......Bosh wouldn't have signed up. And if he did would he have wanted to play C?

Would LeBron James have signed up to play with the Heat, Wade, and Love?

I think the Heat should have taken Love with the #2 pick.

Big three would have happened in NYC, but it would have been Wade, Melo, and LeBron. Knicks coulda been relevant.

If you haven't noticed, Bron has a way of making things work. leBron driving to the basket with an option of kicking out to Melo or Wade for a three seems like a pretty good option.
