they’re not going to shoot 40% from 3 every game. There isn’t a coach in nba history that wouldn’t be happy with his team shooting 38% from 3 especially at the volume Boston attempt 3s

There was probably a dozen calls worse than that one missed in the game as well.

The block itself was clean. Any part of the hand is considered part of the ball when they are touching the ball.
And you often get 2 inches of leeway down the wrist area to define what is a "hand". It is not exact science what constitutes a hand.

However, If you smack a players hand without the ball, it could be a foul.
With the ball, You have to hit their arm closer to the elbow.
