Nationals at Pirates Series Thread|05/03-05/05

After a much needed (and well-earned) day off today, the Pirates (16-12) will head back home to Pittsburgh to host the Washington Nationals (14-14) for a three-game set. The Nationals are a talented team, so this series will not be easy.

The projected starters are Detwiler (1-2) vs. Burnett (2-2), Strasburg (1-4) vs. Locke (3-1), and Gonzalez (2-2) vs. Rodriguez (2-1).

Also, Fox will be carrying the Saturday game, just so you all know.

This series begins a short five-game homestand which the Pirates should use to build on their success in the past 20 or so games.

Just glad to see the Brewer series over. Something about games in Milwaukee that brings out the worst in the Pirates.

The Nats are very talented, that's for sure. However, this is the most talent that the Pirates have had in a long time as well.

With Strasburg's health seeming to be in question, I give the Pirates a real shot to jump on this Nationals team in this series. Here's hoping for at least 2 of 3 & maybe a sweep???

I've always hated the Sunday lineup...

Agreed, but I think this one is particularly illogical, when he is trying to play platoon advantage he can't even do it correctly. Playing two guys out of position for no reason except to keep right handed batters in the lineup.

Just play Snider or Jones in RF, and have everyone else play their position regularly.
