Well the last thing I would call myself would be an analyst. I watch games and what i see is what I see. And yes I expected to see one dimensional play.
But Stave had 219 yards passing, 19/29 (that is making 2 out of 3 not missing half)and two passing tds so you call it luck if you want. He was making his passes.

Now I got no problem with Oak's opinion and agree our pass d is very superior to Purdue's but for you Badger fan I got one question. Did you even watch your team play Saturday?

No I didn't watch.

should one game against a sub par opponent change my opinion having 2 other seasons of performance to draw from on a guy? He doesn't look much different today than he did in 2012.

and on this year he's about 50%, so yes, he does miss about half of his passes. So he had a game where he hit 2/3rds? Great. he'll have one where he hits 30%. Like I said, blind squirrels and all. I think you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that thinks Stave is a good quarterback, even in college. His arm is weak, his accuracy is very suspect. he's as likely to complete a pass to a very well covered receiver as he is to completely miss a wide open one under no pressure.

anybody claiming either WI QB is dropping passes right in to his receivers has questionable at best skills at analyzing qb play :)

We are one dimensional. Can Stave hit a pass now and again? just like a blind squirrel can find nuts once and a while too. He has a weak and inaccurate arm and for as weak as it is, he finds a away to miss half of his wide open receivers by overthrowing them by 15 yards with great frequency. I've never seen a qb of team with such potential turn so many big plays into small ones because he can rarely put a ball on target.

If WI wins on Stave's arm, it will be by pure dumb fucking luck.

IMO this game was more an indictment of Purdue's defensive backs. They let the Wisconsin receivers get into holes where Stave could float a pass to an area and by the time Purdue responded, the pass would get there. Their receivers (hopefully) won't have that kind of space this weekend.

Seeing that you were responding to my commentary on one specific game and forming an opinion of me based on that one specific response then...

...well yeah, duh. And lol to responding against a comment on a game you didn't even watch.

when you get past your headsmacks and duh comments, maybe you'll realize I wasn't responding about a game I didn't watch. I was responding to a statement that was somehow trying to allude to Stave being a QB that drops bombs on his opponents. He sucks. He can complete a pass once and a while. BFD. I've watched him for going on 3 years now and he has the same weak arm and same suspect accuracy. If that worries you, great. I hope you guys play to stop the pass and the great Joel Stave :)

Well it seems obvious to all of us that we need to play to stop the run.

This is why I'm sure we'll play to stop the pass.

You know what sucks about message boards? Especially ones where regular posters discuss things across a variety of threads?
Posters who just search keywords and drop in on threads don't have any context.

Wisconsin's pass offense is abysmal.
If we can stop their run and make them pass we win.

Stava looked pretty damn good this weekend. It's not fair, Wisconsin has clearly been working with their quarterback.

In context I was of the mindset a week a go that we were coming in to a 1 dimensional team where all we needed to do was load the box and let the boys lose on him. If he is completing two out of three passes that changes.

Now our secondary is IMO excellent this year so it is not that big a deal but Nebraska has a history of melting down with dual threat qb's and that simply lends credence to that thought.

It was in no way, shape or form meant to be an "analysis" of your qb's performance since 2012. It was more of a commentary on our team and it's past performance.

Now no duhs or face palms so do you mind?

Really we've covered this time and time again....... It has nothing to do with our Defense.

Our Offense will determine the outcome.

Turnovers, penalties, dumbass mistakes, poor communication at the line of scrimmage.......

If we have those ^^^ we'll lose. No matter what.

I don't think either team will pass much.
The weather is supposed to be a bitterly cold one. High 31/Low22/Wind S.W.@10mph for Saturday.

You watch our beloved OC will come out with a love affair for the pigskins flyin' pass happy game plan. Imani Cross will have limited to no touches and the full back shall not enter the game.
I just don't have any faith that Beck will even look at the extended forecast for Madison.

Stave isn't a dual threat QB. He can't run and can barely throw. McEvoy can run and has worse accuracy. Sure either of them could play the game of their live's and somehow 66% of their passes would find their mark. Considering their history, I don't find it very likely.

If you stop the run, you have a good chance to beat WI. Stave completing a few passes against a subpar opponent doesn't change that. I'd invite him to throw the entire game if I had even semi competent DB's. His arm is weak and his accuracy has a lot to be desired. So he dropped some passes in last week, i've seen him miss TE's running completely free with nobody within 15 yards of them and he misses them so badly I start to wonder if he's drunk?

If you can't load up and stop Gordon your chances go down tremendously.

You ain't seen the Tim Beck play calling.

Nebraska has/had a Heisman caliber running back. Throw the ball!!!!

The wind is 40 MPH gusts. Throw the ball!!!

Nebraska lost their Heisman caliber running back. Throw the ball!!!!

Their defense will key on Nebraska's running. Throw the ball!!!!

The other teams defense is ranked 125th in rush defense and has allowed the last three teams to have two running backs go over 100 yards each. Throw the ball!!!!!

Have you sat down and watched our QB? Tommy Armstrong has a strong arm, but boy is he ever inaccurate! He's so inaccurate that he makes just about any other QB including Stave look like a world beater!

......

I am not too far from Madison. Saturday's weather is supposed to be either rainy/sleet/snow. Initially, Saturday was the nicest day(not saying much) but it has been modified to be like every other day. Friday is supposed to be nice and sunny and near freezing. Next week the weather is supposed to be 25 degrees for my highs.(WTF???)

Anyone going to the game had better pack real warm.

I will be watching from the comfort of my family room with a roaring fire in the fireplace. Should be around 76 to 78 in there. If the game goes to crap, I will then come up to the computer room and suffer on the smaller TV and yell at the computer fuckwits in general chat.

Ice fishing is like going to a Nebraska football game..........except you're sitting on a seat right above the field enjoying the best view of the game.
